WCW for July for me. I was invested on the Rodman/Malone stuff as well as ex Steeler Kevin Greene competing in the ring. Nothing against WWF this month, but Fully Loaded looked to be, and ended up being, basically a filler PPV to build towards Summerslam.

WWF on this one
Regardless of ratings and talent involved, the one thing the WWF always beat WCW on was how to use a celebrity. Jay Leno shouldn’t have been anywhere near the ring.

That WCW ppv is probably the worst one from that era of WCW, Summerslam was awesome, easy WWF win here.

WCW matches that jump out at me: - Saturn vs Kanyon and Raven
- Rey Misterio, Jr. vs Psychosis
- Juventud Guerrera vs Chris Jericho
- nWo Invitational Battle Royal
WWF matches that jump out at me: - Edge and Sable vs Jacqueline and Marc Mero
- Ken Shamrock vs Owen Hart
- Triple H vs The Rock
- Stone Cold Steve Austin vs The Undertaker
I give this one to WWF.

WWF and it's not even close this month.
The highway to hell thing was awesome. I know people love to hate on the attitude era these days but the promo videos they did back then were spectacular.

I give this one to WWF. That battle Royal def ended up being a contender for one of the worst battle royals of all time.

I go WWF as well. Zero interest in Jay Leno in a main event.

WWF on this one Regardless of ratings and talent involved, the one thing the WWF always beat WCW on was how to use a celebrity. Jay Leno shouldn’t have been anywhere near the ring. I'm surprised Eric didn't use more celebrities. It wasn't his money and he had free reign. I do think WCW used them better simply because they few they had actually got in the ring and were part of the storylines. Most WWF/E celebrities didn't care about the product and didn't even seem to know the product from the early Wrestlemania's to the Raw guest host era. Someone great like Bob Uecker was probably able to follow pretty quickly who people were but I doubt he knew in advance. And then someone who actually was a true fan like Burt Reynold was simply used as a ring announcer and for a backstage skit. WCW's celebrities probably didn't care either but at least Bischoff got lots of hype for their appearance.

WWF SummerSlam!!
However, I would pick ECW Heatwave 98 over SummerSlam and Road Wild if ECW was being included.
But since it's WWF vs. WCW, I gotta go with WWF on this one!

A good few of WCWs celebs were actually fans of the product...so they were keen to get in on it plus it was "cool" at the time too.

WWF Summerslam 1998 is a PPV I could watch countless times and never get bored with it. WWF all the way for August 1998, the hype was off the charts and the highway to hell video package is an all-timer.
