I wonder what the reasons were for the retailer declining it? Are they that up on the trends of which wrestlers would sell or not? Probably shelf space, warehouse space, and/or price point were the deciding factors.

Those didn’t need to be UE IMO. I think they were executed just fine as elites. I don’t think any figure “needs” to be an UE but every figure five that treatment has the potential to be better Case in point. LOD have been mentioned but the series 30 elites are pretty damn perfect Really with the ue it’s little tweaks that make the difference - e.g. soft goods jacket or having the detachable arms to pose better in jackets etc

Now we probably will never get a UE Davey Boy... I can see either of these looks getting the UE treatment Oh wow I wasn’t a big wcw guy, that sting snd bulldog is great! A 2 or 3 or 4 pack of sting, bulldog, luger and maybe even usa macho in any combination would be great

They really need to try and design a more accurate looking head for Davey, or maybe they are just too lazy. I mean they designed a slightly more accurate looking one for the Elite 82.... Maybe its just one of those people they cannot nail the likeness of sadly.

I’d have loved this but….both Davey Boy and Bret would need some new headsculpts. (Maybe just one but it would need to be good). The work they have done on Hogan has been incredible…if that quality could be transferred to the other legends then…MAN….WOW FREAKOUT!

I really would like to see that Bret hart jacket done in a soft goods. It's my favorite Bret hart jacket design.

Kinda plain looking … where’s all the accessories like extra heads, hands & entrance gear that usually comes with the UE’s or is this a prototype image?

No offense but unless you're a MOC collector (I'm not), what gratification could you possibly get from a set like this? It just seems like two repaints of characters released in much better form many times over.
One thing I really get irked about Mattel - not their fault but they don't always deal with the limitations well - is the lack of diversity. They have different phases of Bulldog never done. Maybe not Bret. They do a lot of trivial repaints.
Just legitimately curious. When Mattel gets it right, they do an amazing job. When they don't, I think the line-up can get really tedious to sift through. I'm speaking as a loose collector, not a MOC one.

I don’t totally disagree with the sentiment, but this is two historical figures.

I don’t totally disagree with the sentiment, but this is two historical figures. That makes sense for sure. If they're going to do this, why not have the jacket? I never liked any Bret Hart toy until I got the pink jacket one from the Ultimate Edition. (Defining Moments was great too - haven't bought it yet.) Without the jacket, Bret loses a lot of his personality and what made people care. He looks so plain without it. The Mattel jacket is great. I bought the exclusive Hart Foundation jackets from Jakks and put them on the Mattel Elite ones. The entrance makes the first impression. It's the music, the walk, the demeanor, the pacing that defines the character to the audience in under a minute. The ones who got those down really well usually got over. Mattel really needs to study the entrance gears. The only toy of Hart's made before Mattel that captured the coolness of his character was Hasbro's.

Thank god it wasn't an ultimate edition set why it would have given us another ultimate of a figure thats highly sought after to this day and one we don't know if we'll ever see in ultimate form
