For the past year or so, especially since Mattel fully transitioned elites to having double jointed arms, I’ve noticed an increase of bad QC. Particularly loose left shoulder joints. They retooled most of the shoulders to look more realistic instead of a ball, but my God, 90% of the figures I buy have a loose left shoulder joint that makes it infuriating. Like ridiculously loose. Out of the package it comes out stiff, after blow drying it comes out so loose. Infuriating considering the price point has gone up across the board.

I've had perhaps 1 out of 10 be on the loose side. I wouldn't say it was infuriating though.

QC in general has only gotten worse over the past 10 years

ive actually encountered a ton of tight shoulder joints. i think its due to the double joint arm transition and the upgraded shoulder pieces that come along with them. lots of shoulder pieces that seem too big for the joint opening in the torso

The biggest issue I have is getting figures that don't have eyes looking off to the side.

95 percent of figures I’ve gotten in recent memory have had something wrong with it, usually a loose part, it’s up to how bad it is if I keep it or not and with the rising price mixed with the decline in quality, I’ve been buying less and less
I got RA2 RVD and Booker T, two figures I wanted to own but the loose torso and waists were enough for me to return them
For some people it’s not a real issue because they just stand them on a shelf but for photographers and players it kinda sucks

it has definitely gone down hill, I have been collecting this line from the start
- True FX = you may need to buy another bc 50% are botched (either eyes or hair/facial hair are misaligned) - they do not add the rubber to the torso anymore so torsos are lose (compared to older elites) - skin colour painted on is the worst! years from now we will all be looking up what paint to match to cover the peeling, too bad for tattoos - just look at how Basic figures are 'devolving' to have less articulation than Jakks etc! - even the scale is going out the window, the reason why we all made the jump to mattel was the quality of detail
still cool but...

Biggest issue I see consistently is a big gap in the ankle joint.

For me, I've noticed the decline in the last couple of years. Particularly, with the legs and arms. Both my UE Kane's had this weird gap on the upper leg next to his hips and you couldn't fix it. Same thing with the boot, another gap where if you pulled it might just snap the whole thing off. My WCW salmon Bret had his upper arm fused with his shoulder and once blow dried, it became loose. I like FX printing to some extent, except that 8-10 figures come with eyes that aren't aligned or look cross eyed. It took me three damn Farooq's to get one that didn't have paint smeared on his chest, or his eyes floating off of one side of his face. Mind you, I'm only buying like 7-10 figures a year now. I can't imagine anyone who's buying full sets or by the boatload. I'm also not a fan of the pegs being removed because a lot of these figures are coming with loose joints which you can't swap or fix. On the contrary, I love how clean the pegless figures look.

Cross eyes
Gap between arms and shoulder (the big arms especially)
Still using none swappable heads as alt heads

Arms are too tight. Arms are too loose. Misaligned face prints. Flip a figure over and the back looks like the machine chewed it up. Torso already cracked partially open. Floppy ab crunch. Errant black marks. Glue showing on the outside of the figure or under the hairpiece. Two left or right feet, arms, thighs, etc. Stains. Stains on figures that don't even have soft goods. The sole of the foot is popped out. The boots are bent in half pointing down.
You name it I've had a issue with it. Probably like 80 percent of all my purchases. I try to be zen and say they're just toys but then I buy Hasbro stuff and only have problems like 10 percent of the time. What does Mattel do different to constantly have these problems?

Paint splotches
Gaps in shoulder and bicep joint
Floppy ab crunch
Misaligned Face Print
Spiner torso
Loose ankles specially old school John Cena shoe mold which is also used on mankind, Shane McMahon and many more. They constantly do shelf dive.

QC on elites is still bearable but Ultimates having same problems is unacceptable. Most of my elites always some kind of QC issue.

if they had the type of QC where they remove the bad ones they wouldn’t have any figures to sell

We get this post every 3-6 weeks Should tell you something about Mattel's QC. I love the work they put into them, but of all the lines I collect, it's easily the one with the most QC issues

Most of the small TrueFX imperfections end up not bothering me after time. What gets a little annoying is some of the stuff mentioned like gaps in the ankle joints and the overall quality of basics, feels like figures fall over more often as a result.
I wouldn't call it QA, but the poseable rubber material also ended up being kind of a dud for me too.
