I’m just curious what everyone’s opinion is. We all know that HBK head on the Toys R Us Network Spotlight SummerSlam ‘95 and basic Royal Rumble ‘95 figures. Do you think that adding TrueFX to that head would make it look good?

That head belongs in the trash.

I think there's several older head scans that would benefit greatly from TrueFX. NOD Faarooq HOF Eddie Guerrero Legends 6 Eddie Guerrero Hall of Champions Undertaker Nikki Bella WM 14 HBK Elite 36 Bo Dallas etc.

That squared-headed mother er would be best saved as unwasted plastic.

True FX is such a hit or miss. Some guys it looks great and on others non true Fax looks better. Two examples of where the truefx were disappointing are the Legends Series 8 Orndorff. The two figures released prior looked 100 times better. And Hall/Razor. His non truefx heads look so much better than the Legends Series Hall. The truefx on that figure made him look very feminine.

I put an extra Amazon HBK head on that figure & I love it. That head went in the spare box set

I never noticed, until I just looked at it, how bad it is

It’s wrong, by June of ‘95 he had grown his hair out of mullet phase and it was just long rocker hair. That’s what I hate about those scans.

I think the worst part to me is that horrible hairline. Just looks so awful.
Asides from that, the face scan just looks like a melting rubber mask. True FX isn't enough to save it.

Shawn Michaels has never had a good headscan from Mattel. Either his hair looks off or he has the lazy eyed look.

I actually quite like the WM14 Elite, the newer '2005' scan that came on the Ruthless Aggression/BAF Dominik Elites, and I think that first headscan with the ponytail that came in the 2-pack with Chris Jericho is really nice. That 1993 scan they just reused on his Legends 17 figure is nice. His Rockers scan was good. He's got some good scans.

Overall there are more misses than hits, but the Mania 14 one as well as the Amazon Ultimate ones are solid, and the 1992-1994-era one (EG: Mania 9, Legends 17, etc.) is one of Mattel's best heads IMO.

I honestly think only the SummerSlam ‘95 one is a miss. I think the WM12 one is only a miss because it keeps getting used incorrectly (in my opinion). And also I think there are a lot of instances of no stubble being added to ‘97-‘98 HBKs that cause them to be misses. But the faces are good.

The Elite 17/RSC DX Exclusive has always looked really off to me, and the first UE heads are a mess (though I think some of that has to do with the hair pieces). It probably skews my ratings a bit since those are the eras I'm most interested in.

I don't think anything could save it. The square head was just not right. I still think wm14 is the best one yet, truefx might help that head.
