We took down our Christmas lights fairly early this year, but I'd love to keep them up longer. Kind of a mark for Christmas. Went to a friend's house recently and his lights are still up.
What's the latest you've ever kept your Christmas lights up? Ever still have them up in February? Even March?

When I was a kid we lived in this crapty old house and my dad didn’t take care of it. We actually sold to “we buy ugly homes,” if you remember those billboards. I wanna say they were up the last five years we lived there on the back porch. We would have to go in through the back a lot because our front door was a pain to open and get locked again. Only problem was the grass in the back was over the fence! Yeah we were those neighbors. They prolly thought my dad didn’t even own a mower but in reality he just got off a 12 hour shift mowing sports fields all day😂

In my third year of university, I shared an apartment with 5 other students and we just never bothered taking the tree down after Christmas. That was 2020 so it lasted until March when the pandemic hit. I flew back home (thinking this whole Covid thing would blow over in a month or so... Ha, was I wrong) and only came back to my apartment in July to officially move out and the Christmas tree was still there.

I never put up lights in my entire adulthood. Might do it one day if we move to a really nice neighborhood. I'd decorate for Halloween over Christmas tbh

Mid February. Only reason I took them down was boredom on a Sunday afternoon.

We took the outside stuff down yesterday. Still gotta do the inside
Growing up, my mom left it up until late spring-early summer one year lol. I remember telling her she left it half the year might as well leave it up

We usually take them down on the 31st of December, so that the new year can signal the end of the Christmas period.

Not lights, but at my apartment we usually leave the tree up until mid to late January simply due to laziness. This year we took it down on the 7th.

We take ours down whenever my wife reaches her breaking point of looking at it. I am a huge Christmas guy and would leave that thing up year round if I was in charge. Since I am not though, I'll say around mid to late February is usually when her patience wears out. Keep in mind she still hasn't seen my credit card statements from all those Ringside sales last month. If she saw what her adult husband spent on figures for himself, that tree would've already been stuffed in the trash with me in the can beside it!!!

We took ours down last weekend. lol that was probably the latest we ever kept it up. My mother-in-laws tree has probably been up for the last 7-10 years. Once my Father-in-law had his heart attack and all his health issues surfaced it never got taken down as he was the one who would do it. And when I was a kid we owned a two family house and my father let one of my mother’s friends and her two kids live in the other half of the house while she got back on her feet. Anyway for the two years they lived there she kept the tree up all year long and just redecorated it for every holiday.

As a kid my parents would leave them up til the 2nd week of January. Since living alone / with my girlfriend, I take em down by new years, depending on what nights I'm working.

The longest was April/May. I got so tired of it for being up for so long that I didn't put a tree up this year lol
