No it’s because the quality went downhill starting with Unrivaled 5 I think the quality wasn't there from the beginning. I preordered series 1, sight unseen to support AEW and their entry into the figure world. Jazwares produced a product below the current standards right from the get go. The following waves all had their own issues. It feels like the overall tought of this whole line has been, "People online like wrestler "X", lets make a figure of them. Does it matter if the figure looks like them? No. People online say they like "X" so here is "X". Oh, and here's a great idea, people love "X" when they wore "this" outfit, lets make a version of that, BUT let's make it Super Hard limited and hard to find because our customers will love that!" I'm hoping their acquisition by that other company possibly leads to a Reboot with a new Elite/Ultimate/Supreme body mold that offers different outfits/head scans for figures that might have to be more directly advertised to collectors online instead of in-store retail. I can see this line dying because they're trying to sell $20+ figures that aren't worth it. I wonder what would have happened IF they tried to release a "Basics" retail line. I would have never bought that because I want articulation, detail and likeness. I'm willing to pay premium for that, but the average wrestling toy buyer isn't. Unrivaled 1-4 were great, and so is the Unmatched line now. Unrivaled 4 specifically is such a good set with good attires and characters

Very much agree to disagree. The Supreme figures are out of this world. I think the Blood and Guts Thunder Rosa is the best AEW figure they've done PERIOD. The Britt, Miro and Andrade figs in Series 10 rule. I do believe it's a line to pick and choose because when a fig is bad (the newest Jungle Boy, etc.), it tends to be really bad. But I couldn't disagree more about going downhill after 5. The parts are cheap and flimsy and the skin tones are zombie clay, it started in Unrivaled 5 and it still hasn’t been changed since then, only Unmatched has the good pigments and joints The Supreme figures are not even in the conversation and them being good at a $45 price point doesn’t change the fact that the main line is corner cutting and feels cheap. My area doesn’t even have Supremes at retail and probably isn’t getting them Agree to disagree. Unrivaled 9 is my favorite set in the entire line so far. And you can't just disqualify the Supremes lol, they're part of the AEW line.

The line feels really cold these days and that's mostly due to nothing really coming out in like 4 months. A few commentators, the Blood & Guts Rosa.... And that's kind of it really. I still haven't gotten around to getting Supreme Kenny and Malachi yet because I'm hoping they eventually come to retail or at least come down in price on Ringside.
I still want to collect this line, but that long drought of no figures and radio silence definitely had me put Jazzwares on the back burner for a while.

I personally am still very interested in the line - some figures are better than others, but otherwise what I have chosen to collect is fine with me.
Upcoming Malakai figure is high on my want list, and hopefully we'll get more preorders/reveals coming shortly.

I blame Cody Rhodes lol Gave us hope. AEW felt like the place to be. Leaving has made AEW not as cool anymore?

I'm still into it, but the physical market is totally shot around me. Paying RSC's retail+ prices have killed most of my enthusiasm. Their Black Friday sales got me caught up, but I'm not very itchy to pre-order new stuff.

I mean if I'm being blunt, my biggest gripe with the line currently is it rotting on shelves causing my local stores to not order other wrestling figures. This line is dying a death because they tried running before walking and most importantly it doesn't work at retail. AEW fans love to tout "the key 18-35 demo" being their main fanbase but the people who actually buy toys at retail are children/parents, without them there simply isn't enough demand to warrant their place in stores like Wal-Mart.
The only figure I'm even remotely interested in is the RoH Punk that might not even be made anymore and who knows if it even were, would come out looking decent? I think the line blew its chances with adult collectors spamming the same people over and over again, having awful joints and skin tones, incorrectly utilizing the legends they have and making people no one really cares about. Given that some Wal-Mart's are pulling their pegs and now Target is doing the same and isn't even listed as a retailer on the website, I don't think the line is long for this world, especially in its current state.

Advertisers care about the 18-49 demo, regardless of what show it is. As far as everything else you said, physical distribution for figures is hard right now unless you're a billion dollar franchise. Even then, there are still Marvel peg warmers. Once my closest Walmart stocked more Nyla Rose for Christmas I had to write off the store until they move every AEW figure to clearance.

Advertisers care about the 18-49 demo Regardless, advertisers aren't the ones walking down to aisles buying things for their kids based off a demo and the age group that advertisers care about are adult collectors in the best case scenario and that's not enough to sustain the line. 18-35 or 18-49, the point is that not enough of them are buying this stuff and physical distribution doesn't matter when the pegs are full off the same figures for 6 months so there's no need to distribute new figures.

I think Mattel has spoiled me with the frequency and amount of new figures.

I think they just started pumping out too many figures. I love AEW myself and they've made incredible, incredible growth to become the No. 2 promotion business-wise in the world in such a short time, but they're still No. 2 and just aren't going to have the reach of a WWE when it comes to merchandise sales. Jeremy did a patented move by making production super small for the first wave so that demand greatly exceeded supply. That allowed them to pump up production with increased demand from the stores ... but they increased production too high, which led to clogged shelves. This isn't just an AEW/Jazwares problem, it's a toy industry problem at the moment. Hasbro/Mattel/etc. all pumped up production to meet with the increased demand early in the pandemic. Marvel Legends is one of the biggest action figure lines in the world and they're completely rotting shelves/being discounted immediately because Hasbro started pumping out too many/demand has dipped post-pandemic. I'm hoping they settle on a happy medium when it comes to how many to produce because I still think the line is terrific overall. But this is also an issue that's affecting pretty much every toy line at the moment.

I saw my first post holiday Walmart reset today. I was happy to see that they kept 4 spots total for AEW core figures and one spot for Supreme. I don't buy a lot of AEW figures, but I've bought more than I thought I would when the line started. With some Target stores reducing AEW facings, I'm glad Walmart isn't, at least at this one near me.

Personally I haven't lost interest in this line I just lost the hype around it. It was very fun in the beginning, but with the constant issues of them fixing those issues to just creating new ones made me not care as much as I use to. Also the current state of the economy made not jump on the immediate pre orders on these plays a big part.

I stopped in a Walmart earlier and I saw a ton of the Dork Order figs and Walmart exclusive Hangman figs if anyone is needing those for $23.97

I wish I saw any of the clogging some people in this thread are. I barely ever see them in stores near me, and when I do it's usually 1-2 figures at most.

There's less coming down the pipeline that I want lately, which is honestly for the best. My AEW shelf is pretty jam packed at this point, and I'm finding I need to kinda pare down who I want to keep and who I can admit was an impulse purchase. Eventually I'll unload a few of the latter and hope for maybe half my money back ('cause none of the ones I'm gonna be dumping are great figures, but any stretch).

What’s wild is the Walmart I’m referring to, I found three rare Brodie figures back in June of last year. The rest of that set is still hanging on the pegs They haven’t gotten anything new other than the Punk and Hangman exclusives. Punk goes quick but Hangman.. well he just hangs I don’t know why they won’t clearance anything out tbh. Its disheartening as that store initially showed a lot of promise
