I see the same figures sitting in stores in my area for months. I think that the general public just isn't really interested in the mid-to-lower-card wrestlers at all, and even certain upper card talent that's not really well known outside of AEW. I think they might need to do one line that is targeted for all retailers, including brick-and-mortar, that has figures that will be more recognizable to more people, the ones that actually sell at retail now: Danielson, Omega, Darby, Sting, Moxley, Jericho, Punk (...?), etc.. They can put legends in this assortment, too. They can have a separate online-only assortment with some of the lower card and lesser known talent. Quality and value are a huge issue too. Mattel makes photos with photorealistic likenesses with fairly consistent quality. If someone is in a store, and comparing AEW figures to Mattel, the Mattel figures look much better, and feel like a better value. But, and again, hate to say it--whose fault is it? I have to lay blame at the feet of AEW for not establishing even the mid-carders as stars. WWE/Mattel doesn't seem to have that problem...

Hook and Danhausen are probably most peoples top wants right now and I would definitely call them mid or lower carders.

I haven't bought an AEW figure since July. I see a few new figures coming out I would like to get but yeah, I lost interest in the line.

If you genuinely think that WWE's paper thin roster, has more mid card talent over with the roster, than you have brain rot. Respectfully. Almost everybody in AEW gets a great live reaction, which I can't say for WWE talents outside of the main event. The real question is about brand visibility. AEW isn't as widely known to the masses, the general public has never watched a Dynamite. AEW whilst being a significantly better product, is still the niche at retail. Thus the product doesn't sell nearly as well.

Pains me to say that I agree...but this,^^^ 1000%.
The AEW midcard get "good reactions" because most AEW fans are marks. I say this as an AEW mark. And I can say that as someone who has been to several tapings the reactions aren't that great.
But ask the average casual who Kip Sabian or Evil Uno or Alex Reynolds are...blank stares.
Ask people who Ricochet or Braun Stroman are (and yes, right now they are midcard), people will know.
I love me some AEW (despite their many current faults), but we can't compare Walmart to Mammy Pickle's Bargain Emporium. Night and day here.

When the mom and pop shop does half of Wal-Mart's foot traffic after starting up less than 4 years ago, it's damn comparable. AEW is competitive with WWE in major markets, their talent have significantly better reactions from the beginning of shows until the end. I've been to TV and PPVs. Everybody from The Acclaimed, to Orange Cassidy, and the damn Dark Order get a great re action. It might be a much smaller audience, but the experience is closer to the attiude era, where the crowd is invested in the entire card. WWE is top heavy crap.

Just a reminder let's keep steering clear of any name calling or mud-slinging so this thread can stay open.
AEW and WWE are different animals. One, you have the kid demographic who buys toys and far more heavily skews towards WWE. WWE also did a really good job of building a brand around "first time in the line" figures. You have some people who specifically collect those and they promote them as such. AEW "rookie" figures just don't feel like they have the same hype. And I think they continue to miss a huge market with the execution of the Luminaries figures.
I really like the AEW roster. But in terms of figure sales, you just aren't going to have that same traction as a lower or mid-card WWE wrestler has, regardless of talent. I'm psyched for the Butcher/Bunny/Blade figures. But I don't have great hopes for them at retail. Even lesser for Private Party. Not having Jeff Hardy, Punk, etc at their disposal right now is a huge blow to AEW's anchor figures. And you need to sell to figures beyond just diehard fans to have a successful toy line.

I'm just as excited for this line as I was day one. Any time a new series is announced, and we get a FTIL, I'm happy.

Its to the point where when I see reveals its just a sense of dread seeing stuff like Private Party, Abadon and BBB cause you know they are just gonna rot and that's if they even make it to shelves that aren't packed with old series. Even HOB, I don't think anyone but Malaki will sell and we'll see a bunch of Buddy and Brody just hanging and banging. Id also love to see someone keep track of when the last time a person was on TV in relation to their figure being released.

It's kind of astounding there was NO coverage here of today's reveals. A pretty sad indication of interest and excitement

I agree about Buddy,he might not sell the greatest but I can't see Brody hanging around to long. Besides the Lucha Bros,I can't really remember a tag team/stable that has sold great and that was mainly just Penta that sold. I still see Fenix in some stores still to this day. PnP,FTR,Best Friends,Dark Order, that one Bucks set and SCU has been some of the biggest shelf warmers in my area besides the ladies. So yeah,I definitely see teams like Private Party and Butcher & Blade warming real hard. Maybe they could start sticking most of the tag teams in the Amazon exclusive two packs where they wouldn't clog the shelves so much and free up more spots for others.

not gonna quote bc it’ll be huge but for Chuck Norris:
Private Party - as a team and Marq 11/30/22, Isiah 2/1/23 (with Page and Hardy)
Abadon - 10/27/21
Butcher and Blade - 3/1/23
Bunny - 2/8/23
HOB - Malakai/Brody 1/11/23, Buddy 1/25/23 (all 3 on PPV today)

I was all in this line when it started as well but my interest has reduced greatly. There is maybe one or two figures from each upcoming line I'll actually get. With these becoming more scare at retail as well I don't have high hopes. After Hook, Danhausen, and HOB not sure what I would get without waiting for a clearance sale.
Pegs in my area are stuffed with Nyla, Archer, Retro Jericho, Trent, Chuck, Stat, and Cargill. Nothing new in ages because these won't move. Walmarts all packed with Exclusive Hangman too. Supreme Britt is even warming at one Target.

He should’ve gone into development right away and a figure brought out, he was super hot on the indies and while there’s still undoubtably eyes on him he seemed to not do much got a while and then had that little hookhausen thing but he hadn’t done much there im aware of so a bit of his buzz seems to have died down?
