Two years ago I'd be all over every throwback Ultimate. These days I'm getting very picky. Mattel's also already kind of blown their load on Hogan Ultimates & LJN Warrior isn't something I need in Ultimate form. But I'm down for Macho, HTM, Hacksaw, Sheik, Demolition (if they ever get them back), Ted Dibiase and Hart Foundation. And as highly unlikely as he probably is, I'd buy a set with Captain Lou. There's meat on the bone for the Colloseum Collection, but not enough to last more than a handful of sets for me.

I don’t think anchor talent has as much to do with these as not rereleasing them. The demand for these will stay with hardcore collectors if they know it’s the only release of certain guys in ultimate form. It’s easier to sell people with this is the only release x guy and x guy will get than here’s x guy for the tenth time imo.

As long as its somebody I want,ill buy it no matter a anchor talent or not. I've done it before in other stuff I collect but I'm not trying to have a complete set of Ultimates and buy stuff I don't really want,I just pick and chose the guys and girls I'm really into or brings back a feeling of the past these days.

After thinking it over, I think the only LJN combination that would be hard for me to pull the trigger on would be a Luscious Johnny Valiant/Classy Fred Blassie set. I hope this line lasts long enough that we get to that point, though.

It really depends on the set whether or not I’ll buy it. I mean, to be fair there are sooooo many ways to make attractive sets without an anchor.
JYD/Adrian Adonis
Heenan/Patera
Sheik/Volkoff
Valentine/Beefcake
Vince McMann(that’s what the sticker reads even though it’s printed correctly)/Jesse Ventura
That said there are guys that I just can’t see buying. I would buy Sheik/Volkoff, but not Volkoff vs Corporal Kirchner or anything with Ted Arcidi or Outback Jack
On the other hand, There are guys I’d absolutely need an anchor to buy. Hell, depending on how deep this line goes it might be better to pair anchors with weaker characters like they did with Hogan/Funk (no offense to Funk, I love the Funker, but in this line who else would he have gone with, Jimmy Hart?) For example, I’d consider putting Savage with George Steele as opposed to Steamboat, who will sell no matter what. Long hair Andre and SD Jones would go well together. You could even give Andre two heads since that’s what he wore in the haircut match where Jones was his partner.

I don't need an anchor because these were all very high profile wrestlers/managers in the 80's except Ted Arcidi, Outback Jack, SD Jones and the referee. Even then I would buy those 4 especially if the referee was Dick Woehrle.
I would also like other what if's like Ivan Putski, the Missing Link and Killer Khan.

I can’t say I’d buy whatever they put out. I definitely wouldn’t buy an Outback Jack/Ted Arcidi set, but if there’s at least one desirable figure I’ll almost certainly buy most of what they offer.

If they run out of people they could just redo them in attires that aren’t directly from the LJN line, you can always repeat Hogan, Warrior, Savage, Andre, & Piper. Or they could offer some characters as singles instead of 2 packs
I want a new set of Demolition I only managed to get Crush and need Ax and Smash
