This thread is something. I feel like we've all come together on here over this RA line haha. Let me recap how hunting these sets has gone... - RA 1, found at a Walmart on a Friday night last July... they were sitting on a pallet and a very joyful worker gave me the 3 pack case... I also saw them multiple times at more local stores, making me think wow... this line will be easy to get. Lol. - RA 2, I went to Walmart every morning and found the Mania shipper eventually. Grabbed a set. - RA 3, found Cena and only Cena, a few months ago. This past weekend I found a Shelton. Tonight a friend found me a Nash. - RA 4, I found the Summerslam display and got the set in one shot. - RA 5, if it is series 5, a buddy found them out west and offered to pick them up, charge retail and ship em out to me... which will probably be cheaper than gassing up my car to attempt to find them... lol. - RA 6, which should be the final set... TBD. All in all, series 3 was the biggest pain. Yeah, I've found the ones I need, but what an ordeal..... * It was like six months between Series 1 up until anyone found Series 2.... * Numerous pre-orders cancelled, reported by many * Seems like the majority of this series was only in stores on Shippers, and were typically gone within 1-3 days of hitting the sales floor * I only saw Series 2 once..... and never saw Series 5 (yet). |

Ya'll payin' some wild prices for these figs. I try not to judge but dang. ”Damn it, these scalpers are ruining collecting!” … pays guy online $10 extra for figures he buys in stores. And you wonder why these “collectors” are wiping out shelves. 🙄 |

And you wonder why these “collectors” are wiping out shelves. 🙄 See, $10 extra isn’t a deal breaker for me because of that extra $10 bucks, the seller may be lucky to get $3-$4 of it after the payment service you use takes that cut and then assuming they sell more than $600 worth annually they will have to pay taxes on that income. If they drove around looking for the items, maybe they recoup enough to cover gas money if they are only selling $10 more. The problem lies in people like Gizmo who want to charge $60-$80 per ultimate and claim to be helping the community. |

i cringe every time Walmart gets exclusives due to how poorly they stock shelfs, and the fact they cancel just about every pre order if a store wants exclusives Mattel needs to make sure they make them available online in big quantities.

At the end of the day, $10 extra isn't the end of the world for a figure I'd really like to have.... But it still burns me up when I see Facebook posts of guys buying 3-4-5-6 of the same figure. Even if they are planning to sell for just a few dollars more.... while the shelves at my stores are either completely empty or already picked through (if they ever got stock to begin with). Like, if that wasn't going on so frequently, maybe these things wouldn't be so hard to find? And maybe we wouldn't have to resort to third parties to buy in-store exclusive products? Plus, at least - for me - there is zero "thrill of the hunt" in resorting to paying "Joe Collector" $30-$40 for an Elite I should have been able to find in a store for $21...... Collector's Code: You can buy two. One to open, one to keep MOC. Any more than that and you are probably a scalper.  |

Cost + shipping, cost + a few + shipping, leaving the figure on the shelf for someone else to buy at retail price
That’s helping collectors. Anything else is trying to make profit.

I found whichever set is the Edge/JBL/Torrie set this morning. I grabbed JBL, left the rest.
It was around this time last year I found series 1 and grabbed the Lesnar - I get to hit one particular Wal-Mart early 2x a week when I drop my kid off for his summer camp.
Hoping the shipper will eventually make its way out so I can have a shot at Bischoff, and I think I'll be done the set with those 3.

I hate scalpers.
But are we really getting mad at someone adding 10 bucks to a figure to ship?
Do you want them to lose money? Cause in most cases, it's actually cost 10 to ship....
Paying 35 shipped is pretty reasonable if you ask me. 40 may be pushing it, but you gotta figure, an elite in your area is 22.99, other side of country could be 24.99.. PLUS taxes.
Making a few bucks isn't scalping.
People asking 100 for the RA ultimates, yes that's scalping.

I paid 59$ for Bischoff on evilBay…at this point, I know this is the route I have to take to get these Walmart exclusives. The Monday night Wars line is going to be an even bigger crapshow.

Hit up another local Walmart today. They didn't have any of the new RA series.
But I was surprised to see the Greatest hits series on the shelves. I picked up Harley Race, The Undertaker and DDP. First time I've seen these in stores ever. Things seem to be picking up a bit.

My town has been getting the SummerSlam endcaps. RAs 3-5 making appearances. Anywhere RA4 pops up, Bischoff goes QUICKLY. Finally saw Austin... MAN, that head is TRASH. No goatee? Either no goatee or a hella faded one. I literally found ONE in the endcap shelf that's perfect and I snagged it. All others... man, it's awful. =( |
