The Rock is one of the only ones (can only think of Hogan and Austin) that at their peak had the crowd on their feet and screaming from the time they walked out to after the match.
all 3 have something else in common too, 5 moves of doom, great talkers.

No but I always preferred the ring work of Austin, Angle and hhh, when I rewatch matches from that time period.
A bit like cena, there is something off with his delivery of moves and selling that sometimes annoys me.
In terms of box office, promos and the aura he carried in the ring he is one of the best.

On the mic, he's simply one of the greatest ever. He had natural delivery and a unique cadence that made him believable.
In the ring, I'd say he's actually underrated. He didn't do the jaw-dropping aerial spots or chain wrestling, but he was a natural athlete who translated his skills into a performance that was engrossing. Compare his work to that of Hogan or Warrior, both of whom were comparable in size to Rock, and you'll see that Rock was faster and more explosive in the way that he delivered his offense. His timing was better than that of Cena or Batista, something that might be attributed to having a lifelong exposure to the business.

You know going back to this thread, The Rock has to be one of the most positive wrestlers of all time. Every time I think about him or hear people speak about him, it's nothing but praise and greatness (no puntended). I feel like a fossil remembering '03 and the early 2000's.

I saw an image recently that had The Rock at the forefront and Austin somewhere behind him, and that kind of annoyed me. He was definitely a top guy, but not the guy. However, dude is a massive success in pretty much everything he does.
As a wrestler, yeah, he wasn’t an NCAA champion, but Austin said he was the best guy to WORK with. There are/were great wrestlers and great WORKERS. As an example, Shawn gets all this praise for his in-ring ‘work’. He could work, but dude was not a wrestler in the way that Bret was a wrestler. YA MEAN??

No and yes. No that he can back it up in terms of star power. Yes as a wrestler. In the ring Undertaker, Triple H and Austin etc surpass him greatly.

One of, if not thee, most charismatic guys ever. He constantly changed up and added to his catchphrases and could get just about anything he tried over.
In terms of in ring work, loved him. He’s not ever gonna be known as one of the best “wrestlers”, but you always got a good match with him and I won’t forget that.

I watched religiously during the Rocks run. I remember vividly being ‘eh’ whenever he would win the title. IMO he is not on Austin’s level and the Rock was very close to 50/50 booked which hurt him in big matches. He was very exciting in promos and whenever he touched a mic but to mention him on the Mount Rushmore is a joke.

Yeah he never really seemed like a politics guy, just straight up tbh.
