If the McMahons are the #1 wrestling promoter family, the Jarretts have got to strongly be considered #2. RIP.

Bruce Prichard posted a picture of the two together and an RIP and I was surprised to see most people calling out Bruce for what they said was "making money from talking SH-T about him." I know that was his gimmick but with Bruce always working, I really don't know how he felt about Jerry.
I feel bad in saying this but Jerry was a bit before my time and I can honestly say though I knew his name, I didn't know much about him until the "you know" and "chicken salad" skits. I still don't know if "you know" was a dig on Jerry or Meltzer. Jerry himself didn't even know about the skit until fans started coming up to him asking about chicken salad. Jerry said "yes, I make a chicken salad and it's delicious."
I thought Jerry was one of the best from the Vice "Tales" show. Not much competition though. Most of those older folks were just "there" with little info or charisma to tell a good story. Obviously just a pay day. The Dark Side guys probably did 99% of the work and Rock simply reached out to them, doing 1%. Outside of maybe Lawler, Jerry Jarrett was the best. Bret and Dr. D were great but the episode with both Jerry's really set the bar. Outside of Dutch everyone was pretty interactive in that one while most episodes (until JCP) it was like one or two guys talking and everyone else would maybe say a word or two.
With that being said, I'm sorry I didn't know much about Jerry. A friend of mine met him last year or two and told me how nice he was. I truly do believe that he could have been slated to take over for Vince McMahon at one point.
