I'd love to see Elites/Ultimates paying tribute to certain WCW Toybiz figures, e.g. Smash N Slam style DDP
Disappointed WCW Toybiz was left out of the poll as I'd like to see how many other people have nostalgia for those

Galoob but without Sting,Pillman,Z-Man and Arn,just doesn't have the same appeal.

Either by ultimate look, or a retro design ala Hasbro retros.
I still maintain that BCAs were the best figures for playability. It just worked.

Nothing WCW because without Sting being signed to a new Legends/Merchandise deal anything Mattel makes WCW will be incomplete to me without Sting.

Why not just a general "Homage" Line? If the inspiration comes from a previous line, use the inspired packaging

WWF Hasbro for me. Putting the UE figures next to the WWF Hasbro figures I have MOC would be great. Though, the WCW Galoob Ric Flair mockup you made looks fantastic, I wouldn't say no to that line. But the question is, how many of the old WCW wrestlers that got a Galoob figure do they have signed, or had signed at one point (which means they could sign again)? If they're not going to get a decent amount of figures out of it, I'm not sure I'd want it. And like PJ said, not having Sting signed really hurts the Galoob line. Sting, Flair, Arn (who also isn't signed), the Steiner's, and CM Tusk's favorite Lex Luger, are the biggest sellers from that line - IMO. |

I have to agree with the sentiment on the forum about WCW and Sting. He's such an integral part of every WCW toy line, as much as I'd love them he would be a gaping hole. I voted for BCA but now that I think about it Hasbro may be a better choice. I feel like you got a lot more figure-specific accessories with Hasbro figures that would make sense in the Ultimate line. A character like Hacksaw you could combine both his Hasbros include a 2x4, American flag and shirt, something like that.

I think something like a homage line for all brands would be fun
Series 1: hasbro
Series 2: galoob
Etc
Pick say 5/6 iconic figs from the whole of the original line and do a series per line
There could be a border of the box which could be uniform then inside the border could be inspired by the original line so it still retains both uniformity while paying homage to the original line(s)

You ever noticed that we never got a fully articulated Sting from Toybiz in his black singlet? They all had some action feature or were silver and black. I think for me a lot of these sets don't appeal for me because I was born in the early 90's. |
