I have been taking in some older episodes of STW with Prichard(mainly about teams) and today I was listening to the one about the Rockers and Jannetty. Bruce says the idea was floated a few times about turning the duo heel( Shawns heel potential was already visible apparently) But Vince wouldn't hear of it because he felt nobody would take them seriously as heels and the course correction for them would be too severe because of their in ring style....
Thoughts on this possible creative? Could they have cut it as heels? I have a hard time imagining it myself....

Man, I was so into The Rockers as a kid that I just could not imagine the pair of them as heels. Especially if the way they turned The New Rockers heel was how Vince would have done it for the original duo.

I dunno I think their size would have been a factor. It was easier to get behind them against bigger opponents and looking at the majority of potential opponents if they were heel, I think they would enjoy the same level of success as an orient express. Really don’t think they would be perceived as a threat to the likes of Demolition and LOD.

They were heels in Memphis but that's a whole different beast compared to the WWF.
With how over they were especially to kids and teen girls,it was best to keep em baby.Plus their movesets were completely babyface

It could work, but I don't think it would have been better than their babyface run. I could see it working if they acted the same way Shawn acted in his first year of his solo run, a very cocky heel who thought he was God's gift to women.

well they were heels in real life, so it would have come across very realistic, i do wish they got those tag belts on record though...

Well they were heels in Memphis as The Brain stated, but that was a feud they were having with the Rock N Roll Express too. So it just worked.
I think in 1992 that the Rockers could have worked as heels as a team. But they would have had to change their theme song and their tag name.
"The Heartbreakers" Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty with HBK in the white leather jacket, and Marty with a black leather jacket, with hearts on it that are split in two, sun glasses and the motorcycle gloves and boots with those white tights with the red or black on them could easily have worked then with the steroids leaving the WWF by the end of 1992. I originally had them as "The Boy Toys" but I feel "The Heartbreakers" sounds a bit more better.
However, we would have most definitely missed out on Money Inc. and I really enjoyed the two years of Ted and Irwin dominating the tag team division.

Great stuff....but I think Monry Inc still gets formed. One of the reasons They were formed was because Ted was hurting bad & vince wanted to take the pressure off him.

you’d have to make them limit the aerial and exciting maneuvers and have them be clumsy to a degree, and then bumping machines for the face come back, but it would’ve changed them too drastically I think as you mentioned Joker

If you had them in ECW in mid 90s with their look and image the ECW fans would have HATED THEM
