Look on the bright side. Now that they don't have to spend all that money on producing these sets they can jump straight into the next WWE crowdfundibg project. You can say that them not budging on resolving International shipping was a factor, but still you would have expected alot more buyers from North America anyway at their price. Still im shocked that the limited, less appealing New Generation set was backed and the Nitro set wasn't. Price point, plus a full "arena", plus better character selection. This sets character selection was really confusing to me, DDP and BPP were the only 2 everyone wanted. So had to drop $400 for a stage and a Rey no one really was asking for and a BPP then have to drop whatever the ring is gonna cost later. Just didn't make sense to me and clearly a lot of other collectors. |

I guess we wait for an official word from Steve or Mattel or whoever in the morning that will either say "that's that, sorry guys" or "how about 1 more week to get this done". Steve was answering questions in the Q and A forum and was purposely avoiding the questions about extending the crowd fund, i assume it was because they probably are gonna extended it, but I’m not complaining, give us until Monday! |

Way to many things working against the project.
Mattel really dropped the ball on international backers.
That might have tipped the scale for this succeeding.

I don't know why they included that Rey Mysterio. Sure it's his first Ultimate, but im sure they released it as a basic in the last year, they should have kept Hulk Hogan at 5,000 backers definitely, and moved that Rey Mysterio to the final character unlocked. I lost more incentive to get it when I saw that WCW Hogan was pulled from the table.
Also I don't think they should have got Sam Roberts involved in any of these videos. To me his selling in the Mattel Creations video came across as annoying.

Well this sucks, would be nice to get an extension but honestly I seriously doubt it due to the legalities of the agreed payment date and such. And even the legal aspects aside I can totally understand why Mattel wouldn't wanna go back on their word, sets a really bad precident for future projects if people think Mattel will bend and cave like that.
I really don't care about losing those figures, other than Steiner they were a very questionable selection in my opinion, I would have much rather had more obscure choices and new names than people who have already had loads of figures. And even Steiner personally I'd prefer a late-WCW shorts version with the chainmail.
If I could personally "save" one thing from this though, it'd be the WCW letterblock. Even without the stage that would make a really cool display piece. Perhaps they could release it in a 3-pack of figures, similar to what they did with that 3-pack of 1-2-3 Kid, Razor and Undertaker that came with the Raw letters piece.
I'm probably gonna avoid this thread from now, cos people being smug and "know-it-all" about it failing will annoy me. It's arrogant and disrespectful to both the WF community and Mattel.

A real shame this is, but for me Mattel only have themselves to blame. A balls up since day one really, would be nice if they could make the changes required and give it another go.
