How many more people would buy it if they were: A) guaranteed to get it B) the full value of all 5 figures was included C) x number of units are produced and that’s it. All five are limited to 1/11000. Numbers barely moved when Steiner was dropped to the 5000 tier and he was arguably the most attractive of all the figures. Adding a Hogan and Warrior that people were widely critical of isn't moving x thousand extra units. It’a a matter of value though. Moving Steiner meant having him over Hulk. It didn’t mean you got all 5 figs. I saw many people say they would back if it reached x tier. I’m willing to bet a considerable number of people would have bought into this if they knew all 5 figs were theirs and they didn’t have to depend on other people. Hell, you come out and say ‘we made 11k of these’ and you’re driving FOMO big time. You’re putting people in a position of ‘if I don’t get this now I won’t have another chance’. It would have changed the game for everyone, really. If you didn’t like x figure then you can sell it and recoup some costs. You’d have had international people not be as concerned about paying customs upfront on a product they won’t see for a year, too. Still could have worked as a crowdfund had it been managed correctly but I don’t doubt this could have been a successful venture as a MC exclusive rather than a crowdfund

Hard to execute at this point. Hail Mary ... But a suggestion. Open it up for a week. If those who backed it pay an additional $125.00 and everyone did it of the 3935 that paid. That would give Mattel $2,065,875.00 and would activate this. It would get us the set and two exclusive limited series figures that would be worth a lot.
It could be open for a week for others to pay with a higher amount ... if they reconsider the exclusivity of these action figures ... and for the people out of the states they get it at the original price so they know we are paying more but their's stay at original (since their situation is unfixable at this time). Just an idea for.a guy who wants it.

Day 1 backer here. A bit disappointed this morning that it didn't get funded. While watching smackdown last night, my wife saw the ad and asked why it was just advertised today when it's thr last day. Great question! How many casual collectors might have seen it and are going to look to buy it today? That ad should have been on over a month ago when it went live, that's as big of a botch as there can be if an ad was going to be done. Next issue was the price. Without a ring, this could have been 250 easily. The 11k stretch was unrealistic based on last year's total and being 150 less. Of everything was unlocked, this would have been a great value. If only the first tier was unlocked, not as much. It should have been the stage and 3 figures tops to keep it at 250. Weren't the leds a major part of the cost? Those could have been scaled way down. To me, those were the least important feature of the stage, at least how many there were. Cutting leds and the amount of figures to bring this closer to 250, even 300 would have been a game changer imo. As I am in the US I won't even comment on the international shipping issues, but those definitely were another negative against this being backed But thats not how crowd funds work. The idea is that a crowdfunded item is as detailed as possible. Dulling it down may lower the cost, but thats not the goal. Also they cant make the stage and 3 figures for 250... its been mentioned numerous times that 400$ is the base cost to make the minimum order of stage and 1 figure. Then as more people hop on, excess profits can be thrown at adding a new figure. This is simply math for cost to profit ratios. Mattel is still a business, they cant offer something that costs 350 to make plus their 50 for profit.... at 250. That would be the model of a dead business.

I think the marketing was really good. Build up announcement. Then Wrestlemania week and show it to all. On every toy site. A video done. Multiple interviews on it. Hulk Hogan does a video. On Raw and Smackdown. All over social media. All of us. The juggle of Steiner. Nope it's not marketing. It's a high price point in a difficult economic time without the help from our out of the States friends who would be paying so much more. That's my two cents. Still very sad and want it. Hope something can still work out. The USA fans dropped the ball big time. When it came to be counted they were missing in action especially that cocky colonial who said they didn't need international backers, I notice he is conspicuous by his absence ?. I realize you lot across the pond were paying more than us mere colonials (Seriously, how long ago was 1776? Let it go already) but 400 bucks in today's economy is still a lot of money. As for the guy who said that international backers weren't needed, I agree that was also a stupid thing to say.

I have lots of thoughts about this stage. I guess I'll just go through them:
1. This was the best looking collectible they have ever made and it is a real shame that this won't see the light of day. I personally didn't back it (I'll get to why later) but I am disappointed that it didn't get done and how that might effect future crowdfund
2. Part of me feels guilty. They showcased this stage a couple years ago or maybe a year ago and people lost their minds asking them to sell something like it, so they did. Then we didn't back it. So that's gotta be frustrating on Mattel's part
3. I think going the WCW route was the wrong idea. They make WWE figures, and like 95% of the figures they have made are WWE/WWF characters. WCW doesn't have a huge following, so it is a tough ask to find 5,000 people who are willing to spend 400 bucks on something so niche. I feel like they would have had more success with an attitude era WWF stage and then if that did well enough, they could have tried WCW next.
4. I really think this should have come with some sort of ring skirts or conversion kit of some sort to transform the new Gen ring to a WCW ring. I just spent all that money on the new Gen ring, I'm not going to want to keep buying ring after ring just to have matching ones for my stages.
5. As for the figure choices. I had zero problems with the ones they chose. The figures are really just a bonus. The figures I got with my new Gen stage were nothing special and I prefer it that way. It would suck for people that didn't back it if they put amazing figures in something this limited.
6. I hope this doesn't discourage them from making the RAW stage. This WCW stage was like 70% funded. That's not too far off and a WWF stage would have a bigger market than the WCW one. I know I personally would buy a WWF one before a WCW one, especially since I have so many attitude era figures.
7. Finally, just want to thank Mattel for even giving us this opportunity. Just cause I personally didn't back it doesn't mean that It isn't something I wouldn't have loved to have given the right financial situation and display space.

All the attires were debut or early Nitro, right? Debut Rey, debut Hogan, debut Warrior. I don't know Steiner and DDP's debuts but I'd suspect they're similar situations.
I don't know if that was the decision because of the appeal Mattel thought they'd have or they wanted a theme or because they wanted to progress to other attires later so they were saving them for other lines, but either way it seems unnecessary to me (pigeonholing yourself).
I don't think the wrestler or attire choices were the problem with this one. I just found that curious.

Unfortunate it didn't get backed, but I can't say I'm mad about it just disappointed. I really think Mattel the company should look at this and learn from it as there was alot of miss steps from this crowd funder. The international fans got screwed heavily this time around and the payment plans was a mess.
In the end of the day life goes on and I get enjoy something else with that money (probably invest in a 3D printer). Hopefully this won't be our final chance ever just won't expect it in a long LONG time. Anyway I won't get to enjoy that stage, but a least I get to enjoy the Monday night Wars line... if I can find them. Also I get play The Legend of Zelda TOTK game at end of next week!

DDP just posted on Instagram that today is last day to kickstart this. Man that's a real shame. Makes you wonder how many potential backers might have misunderstood the end date too. To be fair, the top of the crowdfund page said "Ending On May 6, 2023". Only in the small print at the bottom did it clarify it was technically May 5 at 11.59PM. Small detail but kinda careless, it should definetely have said May 5 at the top. Kinda annoying none of us thought of this weeks ago, we could have pointed it out to AFA... I mean thankfully they added the countdown clock so that would have clarified it for most people. But still for anyone that only looked before the countdown was added, and made a note with plans to back it on what they thought was the last day, that carelessness on Mattel's part probably did cost us some backers. Probably a decent amount too. Though whether it would have actually made a real difference, who knows.

Man I’m gutted. I’m disappointed I won’t get it. I’m disappointed for Steve and team who worked really hard to get this through.
I’ve seen people say hopefully the raw stage is backed but if y’all been listening the raw stage will be more expensive because the tooling won’t already exist since the nitro stage isn’t backed. So thinking that through, I highly doubt a raw stage can happen now. If most thought $400 for nitro was too expansive what will they say when raw stage is $500+?

Then their neighbor hypothetically would pay $125 less if they were to back in this week extension period. Doesn’t seem legal or fair to me

DDP just posted on Instagram that today is last day to kickstart this. Sums up the execution off marketing this crowdfund pretty well. Just goes to show little these delusional guys care (including Hogan), as long as that paycheck is cleared.

I don't know how to make memes but we need a legends of the fall when they reveal to Tristan that Alfred's wife loved him more. And replace the image of the casket inside the train with the wcw Nitro stage lol (I'm crying inside) 😢

Not surprised at all that this wasn't funded. The size of the set just isn't practical for a mass amount of people to jump on board. In addition to a bunch of boring Ultimates (proof is in the pudding now) and a high price point.
Doomed from the start.
Had they gone with the Attitude era stage (also too big and impractical but more sought after) and 3-5 more colorful and compelling Ultimates (Warrior in jeans, a boring Hogan and a bland allllllll white Steiner? No thanks!) I think they would have garnered more supporters.

As a day 1, 2x backer I am free to say that if not getting this is the worst thing that you have gone through, you are doing just fine in life. No need to blame those that didn't back for whatever reason prevented them from it. Such is life.
