I am gutted. Just gutted. I really thought this was going to at least get to 5K and honestly I thought we were safe at 7k. Wow. Don't know what this means for the future of collecting. I think I'm going to call out of work today, just too depressed to go.

in the words of the American nightmare, "So what do you guys want to talk about?"
just my thoughts on this. I hope Steve and the team learn that they need to prioritize what sells which is the figures.
I understand that there are those on this forum who want the stage, rings, and accessories but unless you have the real estate things like this won't be justified. The price point I can understand, it's quite a lot of accessories and costs come with that. I'm in Canada and the $800 price tag at the end was steep but I understood the cost to make on top of shipping would put me in the pass category.
At the end, I'm more cornered with the figures and the fact that HBK still doesn't get knee pads on his elites lol I would be more happy if the team crowd funded 5-6 pack UE's much like the Jaaks line did those big box sets. Hopefully the team will reconsider how they approach and do crowdfunds. We've been getting a lot of great items from this team so I believe they'll come back better after this.
Just my thoughts. At least we got SDCC in 2 months!

Eh, once I saw the price tag at $400 and the international collectors start complaining about shipping & customs charges I knew this wasn't getting backed. It's a cool piece. Maybe someone will 3d print one some day.
I'll take my refund now...heading to the local card shop. I'll buy me something pretty with the money instead.

I'll probably perk up when I make my target runs, still trying to find a Hulk Hogan in the wild, lol it will happen one of these days. I'm also trying to get vacation for Comic Con week but my girlfriend is also planning a vacation for that same timeframe so will have to see how that works out.

To me this came down to the price tag. I personally could easily afford it and backed it, but it was a tough call … not because I could not afford it but because it was barely worth that to me. And I say that as a big WCW fan. I understand the economics of it and that is what it would cost them to make it and still make a profit - but it just was not worth that much to enough collectors.
I am a big 90’s WCW mark and preferred this over a Raw stage, so even if they do come out with a more expensive Raw stage I will not fund it.

I wonder if it's possible to address the possible site failures and constant glitching. A lot of people had problems getting their orders in. It'd be cool to at least get an extra hour or two, but it is what it is I guess. There's nothing I'm interested in Crowdfund wise as much as this stage though.

Numbers barely moved when Steiner was dropped to the 5000 tier and he was arguably the most attractive of all the figures. Adding a Hogan and Warrior that people were widely critical of isn't moving x thousand extra units. It’a a matter of value though. Moving Steiner meant having him over Hulk. It didn’t mean you got all 5 figs. I saw many people say they would back if it reached x tier. I’m willing to bet a considerable number of people would have bought into this if they knew all 5 figs were theirs and they didn’t have to depend on other people. It would have changed the game for everyone, really. If you didn’t like x figure then you can sell it and recoup some costs. Still could have worked as a crowdfund had it been managed correctly but I don’t doubt this could have been a successful venture as a MC exclusive rather than a crowdfund The Steiner shift came after Hulk was already gone. They moved Steiner down, added value by adding a guaranteed second figure (and the most desirable figure) and it made no difference. Everyone also complained about Hulk and Warrior, those complaints far outweighing the number of folks who said they'd buy if it was all 5 fits. Based on those facts, there's nothing to suggest they should have just made 11k and released them. We can say people on forums said this or that, but there's a large group of people within that who will always find a reason to not do these things. Even if everything was fixed (international, payment methods, including all figures), there'd then be complaints about the lineup or something else. It's like Twitter, it's mostly not real.

This is definitely going to cause disenfranchisement to the collecting community especially with the future pipeline Monday night wars releases.

I really think the price was the number one turn-off, followed by the figure selection and decision to go with a WCW-themed product.
The New Gen arena never should’ve worked out the way it did, but everything sort of fell into place because the entry price was deemed affordable for all and seemed like a greater value when you factored in all of the tiers. Offering a large light-up entrance piece, huge scale ring (with customizable options), and first-time Ultimate figures (including the unexpected Macho Man bonus) felt like a complete package.
This time around, you really had to be sold on the stage alone for that price, and it’s obvious that most weren’t. I don’t expect a Raw stage would do much better if it’s the focal point and costs $500+. There’s gotta be a little something for everyone. Not saying another arena is the way to go, but if you’re not satisfied with one aspect of the crowdfund, there has to be at least two-thirds of it that does appeal to you. And it can’t just be Ultimate figures, because if that’s the case, just make them exclusive to Mattel Creations and be done with this approach altogether.

I'm sad this didn't get funded, it was gorgeous. lots of serious problems with this crowdfund prevented it from getting there which have all been poured over many times here, and I'd like to hope those can be addressed next time but it sounded like this was the price that it needed to be which doesn't sound very hopeful for getting anything like this any cheaper in the future. "the raw stage would be more expensive" there's a line to cross for the price the average figure collector is willing to spend on their hobby and this was just over that line for many people especially international collectors.

Here's the thing with price. I'm sure it's 400 itself like they said.
All well and good.
The thing though, is it did not need to be that big imo. It was too much crammed into to little IMHO.

I just got off the phone with Mattel President, Richard Dickson, and after we agreed his parents should go to jail for naming him that, he told me no more Hogan, Warrior, or Lex. Then he gave me tickets to the Barbie movie. Solid guy. It’s true, you’re just jealous I’m seeing the Barbie movie early and you aren’t!

Disappointed it didn’t happen, but the world will continue spinning. I’m not really sure where they go with future crowdfunds if there are any.

The harsh reality
I remember waiting what seemed like forever between the New Gen Arena and Nitro Stage
I couldn’t wait to see the next crowdfund
Here’s to another cycle
Probably even longer considering this one failed
