Crowdfund page has just been updated to say "Not Funded". So it's official I guess. Would have been nice to unexpectedly see "100%" and "funded" - and find out there was actually some technical error stopping backers from showing up properly. Or even a "Deadline Extended" update if we're looking for more fantasy straws to clutch at. But seems we used up all our miracles a few days ago when it jumped 20% in one day. Man, that was a great feeling, seemed like anything was possible... There were plenty of errors, both technical and tactical, that prevented folks from buying it. They were just ignored, unfortunately. I can list five reasons why this didnât get enough backers without even giving it a second thought. 1. Figure selection 2. International Shipping 3. Price 4. Timing 5. Waited too long to market it. We could go on and on but these were major missteps in getting this thing the traction needed. It wasnât like the New Gen arena where people were really really happy with the figure selection. It was almost universally people saying there would take the figures, to they were alright, to they werenât needed, to I donât want these figures at all.

I get the impression I'm in the minority, but I honestly would have been very happy to just get the stage by itself without any figures.
Whatever the selection, there would always be more opportunities for figures.
The stage was the unique offering here and 99% of my reason for backing.

When did you order it two days ago? Thatâs a hold that drops of you account after 3-5 days depending on your bank. I backed it on April 5th and it's a full charge. Originally it was pending but disappeared. 2 days ago it got posted and is dated April 5th the charge. Weird. It sounds like your credit card did another charge exactly 30 days later just to make sure the funds were still there. It will likely just drop off completely and adjust your credit limit in a few days. If not you can always call your bank.

I do think we need to be careful with talking generalities
1. People say thereâs a limit fans will spend - while thatâs potentially true it had other factors to consider (time of year, cost of living crisis, people still negatively impacted by pandemic etc). Had there not been such high inflation etc people may have been more willing to put their hand in their pocket
2. People say thereâs no desire for big items - while again thereâs a limit for people a lot will make exceptions if itâs the right product
3. People say we need to stay out of the 90s - again I think it friends on the product more than the era. Arguably the new gen era is the most poorly remembered yet it best something from a much more popular era.
It needs to be:
The right item, at the right size, accompanied with the right figures, from the right era, at the right price point, with the right societal background and released at the right time.
As Iâve said all along and itâs bore out from the reasons people didnât back thereâs no singular reason this failed.

When the new gen arena came out, I was getting unemployment and had a lot of money to spend on toys as there were no sporting events/concerts/vacations to spend money on at the time, so I backed two of the new gen arena. When this one came around, money is a little more tight so I only backed one. Guarantee there are at least 1,000 others similar to me

I think a new angle I have been thinking about to look at this is: maybe having figures as the unlockable tiers is a problem.
Not saying it should be eliminated but it was a huge point of contention.
Many people saw this as âwell we arenât gonna make it to DDP. Itâs not making it to Warrior. Itâs not making it to Hogan. Why should I back it?
People saw the value in the price as the stage PLUS 5 figures. They immediately see this as a bad value when you realize thereâs only a slim chance youâll get multiple figures.
It gives some people unrealistic expectations to a point and it works as a domino effect. Every single person who decided they didnât want to back this was one less person moving the needle, which caused others to second guess if they should back it or not.
If Mattel wouldâve found a way to make the stage a little less complex and save some money on that, and add 1-2 figures to come with the item, I think more people wouldâve jumped in. Maybe they could shave a bit of size of the stage base or take off a few of the 100 LEDs it has. The stage plus 4 figures as the base offering has a lot more appeal at this price tag.
The additional tiers couldâve been a number of things. Hoganâs WCW motorcycle. Announce table set. Mean Gene with a few microphones. Maybe some interchangeable PPV/Thunder logos even though it wouldnât be 100% accurate. Or whatever else!
But really, people want FIGURES. Especially at this price. I think they couldâve probably even charged a bit more than $400 if it included more figures at the base level. People wouldâve perceived more value out of the set.

If they do the Raw is War stage next PLEASE Bill & Steve you have to work with WWE to get us Rare FTITL figures. The casual fan is not gonna drop $400+ on this. The people who backed this were HARDCORE niche fans. We don't want the same old figures that have already been released 10-20 times already. If yall do the Raw is War next id suggest instead of the normal boring ( Austin, Rock, Taker, HHH) figs you make them all stuff that would never see the light of day at any retailer.
UE Mideon UE Gangral - If you can't use that name just call him "The Brood" on the packaging UE Sacrificed Stephanie UE Paul Bearer with brown hair
Make one of the tiers the undertakers cross that you can hang Steph from that attaches to the stage.
Remember this is not for retail so you dont need the A list wrestlers attached. Plus we already have Attitude era Taker and Kane UE released.
Work with WWE to get them to sign more random guys.

I love this idea a lot. I would add Val Venis, Al Snow with Head, Sable, Higher Power Vince to possible figures.

Mattel, can we get the figures now? If not regular release @ $33/ea how about made to order like Logan Paul @ $45/ea?

While from a financial standpoint that makes sense, I just don't see it happening because it would significantly weaken any future crowdfund. If people know that they don't have to back something because Mattel will just release those figures anyway then it greatly diminishes any leverage on their part to have these projects funded as intended.

I know people wanna play Monday morning quarterback, present company included, but I do appreciate the efforts of Action Figure Attack, MattelDesignTeam, and everyone else at Mattel involved in trying to give us something we wouldnât be able to ever get at retail. Sucks that we fell short.

Itâs true, youâre just jealous Iâm seeing the Barbie movie early and you arenât! Shame I became a pizza boy instead of getting my business degree like most people on this site clearly have. Feel bad for those who really wanted the stage or future stages. Disappointed I wonât get the DDP or Rey. Completely unbothered about not getting Steiner, Hogan or Warrior. Welp, time to focus on Ultimate 19, the RA Ultimates, and the next Coliseum Collection drop. Don't worry, there will be plenty more Warrior's, Hogan's, and Steiner's to come. Lex's too... I wouldn't be surprised if each of the figures from the Nitro Stage crowdfund get released elsewhere, perhaps in the MNW line, either as elites of Ultimates.

I suggested maybe do a crowdfunding for just the figures... something around $200-$250 seems reasonable - either in a special boxset, or each individually packaged inside a large Nitro case/box. I think it would sell.

One of the reasons this failed was because they leaned on the "hardcore" fan without doing enough marketing to the more casual fan (or the pop culture collectors that branch out for interesting stuff that isn't necessarily their main focus)...and you are suggesting that they try to get a $400+ set out for Raw is War WITHOUT the heavy hitters like Austin and The Rock? Yea I'm sure the Corporate Ministry Raw is War set with Mideon will really light up the internet and grab those fringe backers that this campaign desperately needed... Lol
