Grim made a completely unhinged video today about how they should have given him and other “influencers” free stages so they could show them and “influence” people to buy them. How did he ever end up with a wife and kids in the first place? That dude sounds like he is off the rocker. No idea who that is but I make sure to not watch any videos from influencers so I don't contribute to their cause (entitlement). He is a member here. He hasn't posted in years though. forum.wrestlingfigs.com/user/4687

...that would probably be over $600(!). They still don’t understand There’s such a lack of general business understanding It’s like when people say why are funko dumping $30 mil of stock, why not give it away or sell massively discounted? 1. It lowers the overall worth and perception of stock they want to sell 2. There’s cost associated with selling even marked down etc There’s a real disillusionment about a product costs x to make they should sell for a couple quid more. Mattel’s predicted profit is already down for 2023 Doing business is an expensive thing - at Mattel’s there’s not just making the product but all admin costs, keeping the lights on (there’s a worldwide fuel crisis going on), premises, insurances, staff (HR etc you don’t think of when making toys) all of which go into how they price things. They have been working on the stage for 7 years, imagine how many hours that is x how many members of staff and how much development in terms of wages has gone into it let alone prototypes etc all that has to be taken into account before they even enter the ‘profit’ I remember when I knew someone who owned a pub. They literally made pence on each pint. There’s the stock, wages, taxes etc to pay. It’s not all gravy

...that would probably be over $600(!). I would pay at least 600 for that I probably would too....but how much would international customers be getting charged? People balked at the size and cost of the stage at $400.

But that prototype and everything that created costs started after The Arena was founded. Creating a prototype isn’t that expensive nowadays btw. Pretty sure the Mattel design team has a few 3D printers in their office. The real expensive part is creating the molds in China.

I did pay 400 for what was offered. I would have bought a couple if i knew it came with the 5 figures. I wasn't really into the figures, my son and i just wanted the stage. I thougt it would have been cool to come with the announce team and a ref or something. We have four 2 x 4 tables that fold up to make up his wrestling arena in his room for the wrestling setup. I'm guessing the international thing is what stopped this from happening.

No doubt it’s not been consistently worked on for 7 years but off snd on, fantasy ideas, pitched in meetings, trying to work out of it could be done, how, etc 3D printing, especially on that scale isn’t cheap. Granted it’s not the same as tooling but they probably had to make a few to get it right.

I wonder if this would have turned out differently if they started with the Raw stage instead of the Nitro one. Since they would have shared parts this might have been an option. Of course its always easy to know it better in the retrospective so I don’t want to come along criticizing someone as I am not in the position to do so, but I would like to know. @afa Would you be willing to give us some insight about why you did choose the Nitro stage over the Raw stage to start with?

This wouldn’t have been funded even if it was the $250 new gen arena at the same price without the help of international backers.

I guess we'll never know, but it would have been more expensive ($500-$600 by the sounds of it) and was even bigger than the Nitro stage - so we'd have had all the same problems. If anything, given the extra cost and size, it might have done worse...

Top guys like Stone Cold, Undertaker, Kane, Rock, and Triple H have already had UE figs. Mankind or Dude Love maybe coulda gathered some excitement. Possibly Mr McMahon as well. But other than them who’s really gonna move the needle? X-Pac? Boss Man? Shamrock? Rikishi? D-Lo? Edge?
