Here’s some ground rules and guidelines for posting here. For those that have posted here for a while most of this should be common sense, but just read through it anyway:
The common sense stuff:
The (relatively helpful) stuff:
The Rules
Thanks to Brian for the majority of the rules. I just changed a few.
If you have any questions on the rules, feel free to PM me.
The common sense stuff:
- Posts related to Sports games belong in the Video Games: Sports sub-board
- Posts related to games on systems that came out before Nintendo 64 (Playstation 1, Sega Saturn, Genesis, NES, Game Boy, etc.) belong in the Classic Video Games sub-board
The (relatively helpful) stuff:
- Before posting any questions asking to fix or set up anything, Google search it first.
- Before posting questions asking about how to get past a boss, beat a level, or stuff like that, please visit GameFAQs and search the game in their search engine.
- Before posting questions about how to fix something or how to get something working, please contact the Technical Support center for the company that made the product that you’re asking for help with.
- If you can't get any responses by doing any of the previously suggested tips, then post your question.
- If your question goes unanswered, go to another message board (i.e., if you have an issue with a game for the Xbox, go to Xbox.com’s message board, which is in the community section there.
- If I lock a post and you believe it was unjustly locked, PM me. If the reason given is satisfactory I’ll likely unlock it.
- If I do anything that you don't like or don't think I should have done, PM me. I can't guarantee that I'll do something about it, especially if it's something that I don't agree with you on, but I do like to get feedback.
The Rules
- I will not tolerate name calling or other insulting of other members.
- Do not bump posts that are either still on the first page or that are over a week old
- If you’re going to make a post that is quite similar to another post already on the first post, just add it to the already existing post unless it can truly stands on it’s own.
- For example, if a post about Halo 2 is made asking for tips on how to beat Tartarus on Legendary, and you want to discuss ways to finding easter eggs in the game, put it in the post.
- However, if a post is made asking about how to beat Tartarus, and you want to talk about new maps that are coming out (this is hypothetical, as far as I know there aren’t any new maps coming out), it can be in its own post.
- For example, if a post about Halo 2 is made asking for tips on how to beat Tartarus on Legendary, and you want to discuss ways to finding easter eggs in the game, put it in the post.
- Starting arguments is not allowed.
- If you don't like or care about a topic that has been posted do not post in it.
- Please try to stay away from the "What's your favorite game" polls or any polls at all. They rarely promote discussion and generally just become spamfests.
- Do not post in threads asking for opinions on a system telling them to buy another system. All this ever does is causes arguments. These posts will be deleted from now on.
