So the first time i saw this was 10 years ago on eBay. They were in India at the time. I didnt go for them and i lost their track for years. About 3 years ago i found out a Chinese collector had them. After this 10 year hunt, they were put up for sale and i finally got them. That felt good.

Mate, that's incredible. The hunt paid off big time, so happy you got them after all that time.
These are awesome, I'd have loved to seen this set get released. Was there ever the grey version prototype (similar to the one in the actual Classic set) or was that what was released in Deluxe Series 3 do you think, or do you think they altered it after they scrapped this set?
Either way, congratulations pal. You own a wonderful piece of a rare Classic gem!

Even this purchase was a thriller, when i saw the add on a chinese website they were already sold, so an American friend reached a chinese friend who knew the seller... It was a crazy run. This set was planned very late in the Jakks run. So i do believe the third member would be CSDA series 3. Which explains why these two were always around as a 2 pack.

It was a crazy run. This set was planned very late in the Jakks run. So i do believe the third member would be CSDA series 3. Which explains why these two were always around as a 2 pack. Some of the stories of the hunts we've all been on for some of our figures is wild at times, the things we do to get figures is unreal. It sounds like it was definitely one to remember though, for sure! Not being around later on in the Classic Superstars run, I didn't realise these were planned that late. I know the Deluxe line started almost halfway through, so I suppose that does make sense. You do make a good point, if these were potentially planned and cancelled around that Series coming out then there's a good chance they decided to release the Series 3 Taker as was and then scrap the other two. Sometimes this line throws up more questions than answers, and it's nearly 15 years later, haha.
