For me Austin vs Taker
The matches were always underwhelming and I couldn't tell ya a good match they had

might be kinda an unpopular opinion but i only liked the first triple h vs shawn match at summerslam 02. I thought all the other ones were a little slow and dragged on.

Orton & HHH.
ZERO chemistry. Bigger the match? harder they flopped. Their WM Main Event was as dry as white plain bread that had been left in the sun for 8 days. Also before anyone says it? it is ZERO to do with HBK vs UT...it was just sh*t and they don't match up well on singles.

I liked Austin & Takers matches tbh they were hit & miss for me....but they did have some belters too. I think these 2 had to find their groove....in 97 & 98 they were awkward...mid 99 onwards? much better.

Austin/Taker and Orton/Trips are two on the top of my list.
For the amount of times they fought, Rollins/Ambrose matches never did anything for me. Not their feud in 2014, not their feud in 2015, not their feud in 2016, not their feud in 2018. They all stunk IMO.

Kane & Big Show. I watched a main event live in Glasgow between the two when Kane was World Champion and I left half way through as I was bored, it was awful. They worked well as tag partners, but never as opponents.

Kane vs Jericho never seemed to have a good match. They had a feud & the most interesting thing about it was coffee

Orton-HHH on paper and story wise not match
WWEs AJ-Nakurma run
Edge-AJ Styles feud really hurt. Was dream match of mine for years. Not sure if it was just match didn’t really get that big match build, judgment day bs, and maybe it would of just been better when imagined it in my head as a kid in 2009.

I think if it was booked as street fight and it was spot fest and was short and sweet just like 14-15 minutes and keep it intense it would of delivered big time only way those two would of panned out

I always loved their matches since I was a huge fan of both guys…97-02 they wrestled with each other a lot of times & I loved em all. SummerSlam 98 & Backlash 02 were great stuff for me.

Braun and Brock should never be in the same ring together again. They both work better as the big man against a smaller guy which is wild bc they both also have had bangers with Big Show.
Agreed on HHH/Orton even though I enjoyed their feud where they fought 3 times in the same night or twice, whatever. It was fun to me as a younger lad. Huge HHH and Orton marks but the main issue is they both like that "im going to lay here for 30 seconds after a clothesline and be exhausted 2 minutes into the match" methodical pace but it doesn't work when two people use it. You need a smaller quicker style to roll with or a bigger guy to bump off and eat their offense so there's something to build. In order for HHH/Orton to be good it has to be a slugfest like their LMS match at No Mercy. I forget the year. 06-08?
Lastly I'd say KO/Styles even though they're absolutely fantastic individually in my opinion. KO's got the edge on the mic while Styles has the edge in the ring. On paper this should be just as good as Joe/Styles in TNA but at a veteran pace but it's never even close.
That's why I say as an adult that my dream matches as a kid wouldn't be that great because of the styles clashing (no pun intended) I always wanted to see Goldberg/Austin, Sting/Kane, Rock/DDP, Hardys/MCMG, Abyss/Kane but probably all of them would have been stinkers sadly. Maybe Rock and DDP could have talked good enough trash to get a build and maybe MCMG and the Hardys could find a way to all be spot monkeys without everyone on the ground creating a slow pace for most of the match.

Triple H vs. Orton and Austin vs. Taker are definitely two big ones that come to mind for main event matches on PPV or TV.
I also felt that Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Benoit at One Night Stand 2005 was very underwhelming.
As was HBK vs. Triple H at Bad Blood 2004 Hell in a Cell match.
But I suppose you can have off nights in the ring too.

Austin and Taker and Austin and Jericho.
AJ Styles and Kevin Owens had underwhelming as hell matches. AJ and Edge too.
Honestly, a lot of my answers are going to involve AJ Styles in WWE. He’s been the underwhelming king since 2017.

I mean where was HHHs desire for revenge? it didn't help that Shane beat up the ENTIRE Legacy faction on his own & made them run away in the run in too. I mean...WTF bland...boring.... pedestrian match where both men just painted by numbers.
