When I was around 13 / 14 years old I got talking to a guy who sold LJN and older Hasbros on a market stall. He told me that there was an ultra rare Dusty Rhodes figure out there that is a normal Dusty but the photo is Dusty with a police hat and / or Boss Man's night stick.
30 years later I'm yet to see this, was he full of it or is this a real thing??

full of it. Dusty was a very short run figure as is, since he left the company and was packed out of the next wave

Yeah never heard of that.
The only dusty hasbro tidbit I know of was that’s there’s a 2-up of it and the owner dropped it in His driveway while taking pictures and it broke Into a million pieces.
he pieced it back Together. there’s actually photos of it on here.

Never heard of that, but it would be cool to see. I thought I heard a long time ago that there was a change to his facial expression from the original design to what we got, the original design looked too menacing, so they had to change it a bit.

UK/Europe is a different story: it only appeared on regular J-hook card, while the other series 2 figures appeared on butterfly-hook card.

I didn’t ever see Dusty in the UK and was buying from Woolworths, Toys r Us and a department store that had them. I only got my Dusty as a friend’s Dad worked in the US quite a bit and had got it for him. I bought it from him around 1993 for £4 as he wasn’t into Hasbros anymore.

He was released in the UK; I've seen J-hook cards with Hasbro UK info on the back (printed, not a sticker). From Children's Palace I believe.
