Firstly, thank you very much for posting the bullet points on this one. Always appreciate that effort. Secondly, Steve gets it. He always does. There is never a point where Steve says something where I'm look "huh." He's got his thumb on the Pulse of the collector at all times because he is us. But holy sh*t. Him having to fight for ONS RVD is... something. Really? Like other than doing Mania 22 where he wins MITB, is there even anything close to that moment for him in WWE? Unless other people were fighting for ECW attires, because then I'll eat my foot, what is it that could even remotely compete with that ONS moment to be immortalized in figure form? SvS 02 maybe but everyone really only remembers Shawn's moment even though RVD was incredible in that match. SummerSlam 01 I guess or when he unified the titles with Jeff on Raw? All of these things feel small compared to his ONS moment that absolutely deserves an Ultimate. They probably wanted a colorful attire that's stands out to kids Steve said:

I work in consumer merchandise as well, creative specifically, and I just don't think their heads are on straight and they're looking at things through the wrong lens. If they really were looking for something with "shelf appeal," I'd definitely have been with Steve on this one and reminded them that RVD isn't exactly a spring chicken and hasn't even been on WWE programming in years. They should be targeting these figures toward older collectors, not little Johnny walking the toy aisle at WalMart.

I wish they’d let Steve get in on design finalizations. Bill can make some of the most awesome figures then turn around and completely others up.

He didn't have it that night so technically it is accurate. Sucks tho I wanted the belt too

Painted on shorts is a big issue, He also has chicken legs Long neck is another issue. They could have waited.

My biggest gripe are the chicken legs that just happen to have painted on biker trunks. They look so terrible in proportion to the rest of his body. Not to mention that the torso also looks like a body armour of sorts. The screaming scan looks like a 60 year old version of van dam. I'm hoping Mattel corrects his figures in the future.

It's fairly obvious Bill makes figures he wants rather than what makes the most sense at times.
I don't blame him, I'd be doing the same thing.

Torso is bigger than legs. I'm surprised that Bill general screw the most requested figs but some jobbers get special tooling for a one off figure.

I can’t believe Steve had to fight to get the One Night Stand attire for RVD it’s the biggest moment of his career and part of the RA era
The only attires I could see being candidates against that one are Wrestlemania 22 and the Raw ladder match with Eddie Guerrero (and that one is only based on how colorful it was and that it was in a video game)

I still haven't figured that one out either, the attires no one cares about or the jobbers get their own unique molds. I love the new crowdfund Scotty, but man those cheap ass painted biker trunks look like sh*t.

It always seems like they would try to sign Bart Gunn after having Billy for a while so they can make the Smoking Gunns. Then they could also make Bart’s other attires he wore.

people have been frustrated for years with design choices. especially parts. its the one area, Bills team and the final sayers, fails at with consistency..
Steve does a good job and i love the transparency he gives.
