I will say, I hope this gets addressed before comic con so we can have it behind us and not something everyone asks about throughout the event. Ideally we hear that itās just be reinserted into A future wave, as this figure was a huge want for me .

I don't think it would be an issue to release an already made figure if it was a rights issue. Jeff Hardy left the WWE just before his Ultimate Edition was scheduled for release and it still got released.
Also with Adam Cole and The Fiend Elite 92 were still released as figures even though they left the company.

Strange that Mattel have allowed the news to come-out like this rather than having Steve make a statement about it or something, instead allowing all this inevitable speculation to fill the vacuum.
I guess Mattel have some sort reasoning behind doing it this way.

I don't think it would be an issue to release an already made figure if it was a rights issue. Jeff Hardy left the WWE just before his Ultimate Edition was scheduled for release and it still got released. Also with Adam Cole and The Fiend Elite 92 were still released as figures even though they left the company. Depends on the contract and the language. Hardy was an active employee (wasn't under a Legends deal) and had a no complete clause for X amount of dates that he was still paid for. Then there is the gray area of whether it was in production (which hasn't always been the case). I think they have more leeway/negotiations with releases vs. Legends deals ending. In the rare case where an active contract ended (like Adam Cole) or even the releases, they could have worked out a deal with them to still release the merchandise planned (if that stipulation wasn't in the contract). |

Yeah I really think we need an answer ASAP. Speculation on twitter and message boards and no official announcement, when I've made preorders is kind of ridiculous. I'm sure someone will say "don't take things so seriously," but I want to know if my preorder will be canceled, a sub will be offered, or what. I had other things in my order as well that are no longer available and frankly if my order is just outright canceled it'll be the end of me preordering lmao

If it was a production or even budget issue, I feel like they would have said something by now. When it is usually related to contracts, legal matters, or controversies is when they aren't as transparent (which I totally understand why they can't/don't provide more information). Also hoping that Steve has just been too busy with SDCC and he hasn't had time yet to post that it's due to production issues. |

Uggh it's a bit enfuriating to think of how many times they blundered Jimmy Usos Elites and Ultimates in the last year when they could have made Macho Man Randy Savage figures that we wanted to see, if his contract has expired.

When they canceled that Sting legends figure because Sting left there was an official announcement pretty fast. They even said they hoped they could work with Sting again sometime.
