Okay, SDCC is here, so I'm choosing to be a glass half full kind of guy on this. Steve is typically pretty good at addressing stuff like this with us, and RSC hasn't mentioned anything about the cancellation yet. So my prediction: the production issues delayed this further than they felt comfortably keeping it in series 18, so they decided to cancel it from that series and are going to move it to a Ringside exclusive once they get the production issues sorted. The silence is because they wanted to wait to reveal this at SDCC. Am I wrong? Maybe, but we'll see I guess. I like the way you think š hopefully itās still coming out I'm all for every idea that has this figure still coming out. |

Kyle's explanation is 100% correct in spite of insinuations I know I've made, this really does go above Mattel to WWE as Mattel doesn't license figures the way Jakks did by cutting the deals themselves. That only makes it less believable to me that the license would lapse. Macho Man is always positioned atop those kinds of alumni sections on WWE Shop/Fanatics and WWE.com. Above Hogan, Austin, Piper, NWO, Eddie Guerrero, Bret Hart, those algorithms aren't exactly an accident. I'm 28 years old and Macho is my favorite wrestler of all time, he has as much generational-appeal as any IP they have. Why do people still associate Macho with Slim Jim? The man moves product. Even if it is some kind of legal hiccup, I have to assume that's all it would be. I said this slightly in jest the other day, but I'll reaffirm, Disney doesn't lose Mickey Mouse. If WWE and their $9 billion wants to act like they're a Disney-level IP they can't lose the Macho Man. |

Just got the email a few minutes ago from Ringside:
"The manufacturer Mattel has just informed us that this item has been canceled and will not be produced. Therefore this item will need to be cancelled from your order. Please allow a few business days for the refund to be put through.
We apologize for this situation caused by the manufacturer."

I wonder how this plays out at retail. Solid packed cases of low deco Orton don't seem ideal.
