I get that, but saying the deal is over 100% isn’t necessarily a source. I can see where they are over the IP of Savage and his likeness dealings, but what’s the source of the deal being over and saying that CMG and WWE couldn’t agree on his likeness being exclusive to them vs no exclusive. Or are you just making an educated guess? Source that the deal is over is Cardona. Where he got that info I don't know. The 2nd part is rumor going around right now. The only people that would know exactly why would be WWE and CMG/Macho's wife. That's why a lot of people are interested what happens to CMG's other clients. cardona’s source: trust me bro |

Without guys like Randy Savage, people like us wouldn't care enough about wrestling figures for sites like this to exist. I love Randy as much as the next guy. (Yes, MKSavage even after he started wearing the neon cowboy hats are you happy I went on record for you?) but to say without guys like Savage this board wouldn’t exist is a bit of a stretch. the list is by no means short, but I would stand by that. without those top 25-30 guys wrestling kind of isn't wrestling as we know it edit: Wanted to clarify that of course there are reasons why business relationships can become untenable (Hogan's issue, certain murderers/alleged in WWE's canon) totally get all that. But WWE selling their company for $9 billion and then deciding a Macho Man royalty is a little too expensive for them is a bit below board for me and I think people should absolutely be able to voice that frustration |

You can say whatever you want about Cardona between the ropes, but the guys is on a group chat with Steve and Robert. Macho Man is like his favorite wrestler ever. I'm sure he's asked already and been told what's going on.

Very few know how to tell a story within the match now. But I took what you said as it pertains to this site as a wrestling figure site which it would still be even without Macho being in it anymore. We might not be on it but it would still exist. |

We haven't seen the wave of "____'s PWT store is closing in X days" posts that happened last time WWE tried to lock down talent. But maybe Macho's deal is coming up before others.
I could see WWE trying to leverage exclusive deals going into the merger, and would be very on brand. And cutting off your nose to spite your face also sounds spot on. It looks like there are a bunch of new talent under Legends deals, including some that are basically forgettable lower card no-names. So there may be an overall aggressive strategy to lock down talent going into the merger.
It's all speculation. But where there's smoke there's fire.

I can definitely see WWE wanting the license to be exclusive but I can’t see them having that be a deal breaker. Macho Man merch has to make them too much money for them to just let it go.

Well… this is frustrating.
IF… and I’m still hedging because I don’t know what’s going on besides this UE figure getting canceled… this is the end of Savage figures, yes, the run has been outstanding. I’m still grumpy because I really would love a Mania 5 and a Mania 8 Savage and I still hope a new Mania 7 is possible.
I also feel bad because you KNOW the very first question at the Q&A at SDCC is going to be about Savage. Feel for the panel regardless of the answer.
For now… stay calm, carry on and point and laugh at the Mania 7 knockoff that is being solicited. Jesus, that head…
