The deal is over 100%. We will have to wait for Andre, Bulldog, Pillman, deals to expire because their estates are also represented by CMG to be 100% sure that's what happened. Who's CMG?

THAT’S what you focused on from my statement?! I thought you’d be all over me admitting to liking the neon cowboy hat looks. lol Yes, but it was in a very sarcastic tone. Plus, you always said you were a Macho Man fan, just not a fan colorful cowboy look... which gets you one of these... Take that... Sarcastic tone?! Me? Never! That was 100% a warm and sincere admission to liking the neon cowboy hat looks. I don’t see how that could be mistaken for sarcasm. Why there’s not a sarcastic bone in my body.

It's annoying that no one in Mattel has addressed this speculation. They have just left everyone to come to their own different conclusions. There's a phrase "where's there's smoke there's fire"....well there lack of response/silence has made the fire burn more intensely. It has put a dampener on the SDCC for me.
It's annoying to think that Steve Ozer is quick to address the price increase for the basics series on Instagram but he is silent about the future of Macho Man in the Mattel line.

Agreed it has put a bit of a damper on the event but I would have to imagine it's WWE who who would be telling Mattel and Steve not to comment on anything Macho related.

While it is annoying that we're not hearing anything about it, my guess would be Mattel is just as upset about this as we are. They all love making Macho Man figures and that Ultimate would have easily been the best looking figure they were lining up to show off yesterday. That felt like a gaping hole in preview night especially seeing final MOC images of Orton.

Steve would probably say something if he could. If contracts and negotiations are pending or stuck, it serves no purpose to air the details on a fan forum. Fingers crossed they sort it out and we get the ultimate macho king.

With them setting up for SDCC I am sure it will be addressed this weekend at some point when Steve or Bill actually have a moment to do so.

Fingers crossed they sort it out and we get the ultimate macho king. It's also information they're getting second hand and as a professional courtesy. There's zero scenario where putting that out into the public is appropriate or a good career choice for Steve. He's a collector and has been amazing to the community, but at the end of the day this is his livelihood. We know the figure is cancelled. Macho almost certainly isn't available to Mattel currently. What happens beyond that is just something that we'll have to wait and see on, and not something anyone at Mattel has any say over.

I know a lot of peeps are devastated - I was more upset when they lost Sting though… I get why people feel that way, to me this would be much more egregious because WWE/Mattel lost Sting to another wrestling company. Sting was part in making those choices to sign whatever deals he signed with AEW, whereas someone like Jake continued his legends contract with WWE (and reportedly Billy Gunn has as well). Losing Macho Man because the company that just sold out for $9 billion didn't want to afford the upkeep would just be a pretty crappy situation. I get that it could be a situation where Savage's estate asked for way too much, but that wouldn't explain how much smaller companies are finding ways to afford him.

Shhh we just shouldn't speculate when there's no communication. We are supposed to wait like good boys and girls for our overlords to gift us with information.

But we don't know Macho isn't available to Mattel. We think that and it's likely but that's not been confirmed at all and in the end it could just be a production issue.

I agree, which I where I have a tendency to think there's some merit to the idea that the issue lies in WWE wanting exclusivity (possibly because as their streamlining costs in relation to the sale they've decided that Macho's licensing fee is only "worth" it if his stuff is exclusive). Now, IMO that would also be stupid and shortsighted on WWE's part.

Triple H gets in charge and Savage's deal can't be worked out. Hmmmm, I wonder why?
