Do you open or keep them carded?

I open most of my stuff & toss the boxes. I only keep it MOC if it's an exclusive, something that has unique packaging I find cool, or if I think I may get it signed in the near future. On the rare case that I want to display it on the shelf with others I'll buy two.

Currently I have the dilemma if I want to keep my Ultimate boxes. I've opened probably half of them to display on the shelf with others, but the empty boxes are starting to pile up. I used to find them really cool when the line first started because they were new, but now they seem like just another line. For those that have opened their Ultimates have you kept the boxes or tossed them?

Open for jabronis and both for the main guys.

Like many longtime collectors, space has become an issue with me. I only keep a few rare figures MOC, especially since I review figures on Youtube, so I unbox them on camera.

I've been doing both for years. Occasionally I'll buy one to open and one to keep MOC. I have a ton of both. But over the last few years I've started to keep more MOC as I'm not displaying too much anymore.

For the most part, I open them as I like to have them displayed either in my office or in the man cave. MOC takes up too much room for me so if they all stayed in their boxes, I wouldnt see most of them. The exception I make is any figures given to me by my kids or wife as a gift stays MOC.

I do still have every box I've opened...I can't get myself to throw them out, so they take up space in storage for now.  Eventually the wife will say enough is enough and the boxes will go!

I just got back into figures at the start of 2023, but I have amassed quite a bit in that time.

My thoughts on opening most of them is that I want to see them and change their stances here and there. Plus, its not like Im gonna sell them. They will be my kids problem to deal with after Im gone!
