I just bought different color ring ropes for my AEW authentic scale ring but I think the sets I bought are made for the WWE real scale ring (the 20''x20'' version) and was wondering if there is a good way to stretch out the ropes so they are a bit looser. When I put them on the AEW ring they bend the corner posts in and I'm afraid they'll break or get permanently bent from the tension.

Not answering your question, but offering an alternative.
If you search on ebay for example "black elastic cord" (or whatever colour you want), and go for around 2.5mm thickness, you can buy a whole length of it and cut it to the desired length you want. It's literally the exact material they use for these wrestling ring ropes.
When you cut them to length, take a lighter and burn the tips so they don't fray. Tie them in a little knot after threading through the turnbuckles and then cut the excess off. Stuff the small knot under the turnbuckles and you wouldn't even know they're there.

I also came in to suggest cord elastic. You can get more than you’ll ever need, dirt cheap, in any color you could ever want.

Your post lead me on an Amazon search and I found 10 yards of 3mm thick black elastic cord for my AEW ring. I've been looking forever for this stuff but must have been searching all the wrong ways. It's literally perfect and the sagged ropes are no more. Phew! $4 and change later.

Definitely a very good cheap alternative.

I ended up putting them on a door handle and stretching them with the door stopper. I wrapped them around and left them for about 2-3 days and now they are perfect! Just got custom RA raw and smackdown ring skirts for the AEW ring, they look amazing!
