It probably will be a figure most of you don't want anyways Nobody wants an Ali. Well, majority of people wonβt anyway. Disagree. He may not be a figure many people were asking for - but he'll be one of those figures that a lot of people will want, once they see it. Especially Golden Age collectors. I can see him having the same sort of figurs Mr T had: SDCC figure (boxing gear); Retro, Superstars, Elite 2-pk figures (ref gear), possible UE figure... |

With the exception of Slim Jim Savage, every year we have multiple people on here criticizing how bad the choice is and that nobody wants it. βMr T is a washed up has been. Slaughter was a midcarder most of his career. No Holds Barred movie sucked.β But every year these sell out in minutes. And if Ali isnβt for you, then you should be relieved, because these always sell out in minutes. You donβt have to stress out over trying to get one.

If there's any way this is accurate I'm not interested, for the first time in years I won't be trying to buy the SDCC exclusive. Huge disappointment, In my opinion. Who's the SDCC for 2024, Ultimate Edition Liberace? LOL. Imagine the different heads |

Iβm all about getting an ultimate edition referee body. That tooling is going to create some interesting parts for future UE figures, too.

I agree, but the key question is will WWE actually sign some more classic referees for Mattel to make? I think it's very doubtful unfortunately. We know for a fact Mattel have been pushing for classic referees for years, but WWE's attitude (even going back to the later Jakks era actually) is that referees should not be highlighted or promoted in any way, it must be all about the wrestlers (sorry I mean "superstars", incase anyone is getting confused...). Obviously they somehow got an exception for Danny Davis, probably because of his tenure as an actual wrestler and his refereeing being so integral to his character. But other than him, special referees (as in wrestlers or celebrities) seems to be all WWE will allow. I really hope Mattel is able to persuade WWE to change their stance somehow, the "third man" is such an important part of wrestling. I'd particularly love a classic blue Nick Patrick (with neckbrace, sunglasses and removeable NWO shirt), and Randy Anderson is also high on my list, he was so great at playing confused when the heels were cheating. Mark Curtis too, he was such a great physical performer. Plus Earl Hebner of course, though WCW talent will always be the priority for me. |

Absolute dud. Will still sell out cos of people having FOMO but A really poor SDCC figure that somehow isnβt appealing to WWE fans or kinda mainstream collector.
No random joe is going to want a wrestling referee figure of a Ali.

It's definitely a head scratcher if it's ref Ali. IMHO that has zero crossover appeal as boxing fans couldn't care less about Ali in a ref's outfit for a wrasslin show. If Mattel offers trunks and gloves, ok that's one thing but they'll need to provide a younger Ali head as well. Nobody wants old Ali in boxing gear.

Wrestlemania 1 collectors/completists will definitely be interested in Ali as special guest referee. Im Far more interested in Wrestlemania 1 special referee Ali than Ali vs Inoki two-pack.
