Not sure if that’s why they produced more…maybe Ali’s estate signing cost more $ and Mattel decided to get as much bang for their buck with this release??? If I understood him correctly then the suits saw it was Ali and saw dollar signs and overprojected his appeal. But still sold well. Would’ve been a sell out if produced at the same numbers as previous figures. ...not bad for a "terrible exclusive" and "a figure no-one wanted"... 😄 |

It's really strange that there are people on here that want so badly for things to be a failure just because they don't like it.
Between this and his retro set (that is already a failure even though it is 5+ months away from being released), it's crazy that people are getting so worked up over this.
We will never see the sales data for this and prior SDCC exclusives. Even if they did provide it (and it was a success), people that want it to be a failure probably wouldn't believe it anyways.
I wasn't excited for this figure either, but Mattel releases so much product throughout the year (that I am excited for) that I don't see the point in dwelling on this figure.

I was never interested in this figure because to me I'm not much of a boxing fan and I don't personally see this as that much of a wrestling figure which is what I collect so I can see why it hasn't sold that well. Also newer fans probably don't have that same desire as well.

Does anybody who has it know if the plastic film covering the 2 plastic windows is meant to come off? Mine was peeling in the corner so I tried peeling it off completely, but I think the Hogan graphic is attached to the film. Unfortunately now the side is all bubbly.

1. I think some of the "negativity" comes from people who hope Mattel produces more wrestling-based products, and less things like Ali in the future (designed for crossover appeal and with a poor wrestling connection).
2. Steve has been pretty honest, but I also don't totally believe he would say that something sold less than they wanted, and less than previous years, so I take all that with a grain of salt.(Especially in a year when most exclusive sales appeared to be low).

Said the powers that be got excited & wanted to make more despite others voicing their concerns. That being said, he sold the same amount, if not more, than the previous exclusives. |

More wrestling based products? That's all that they do. How many figures does Mattel release a year across all lines? Well over a hundred and we are talking about 1 boxing figure so less than 1 percent. They aren't switching over to a boxing line. Poor wrestling connection? He was in the main event at WM1 and in a match with a wrestler that was watched by 1.4 billion people. Maybe it doesn't connect for you, but that isn't a poor wrestling connection. 2. So you're just going to believe whatever you want that fits your own narrative (without any facts or sales data to back it up) instead of the more logical explanation by someone that works for the company? Got it. |

Received shipping noti's on the 9th, delivered the 11th. Even got an "out for delivery" one on the day. I was thinking MC was meant to charge once an order was placed in this instance. They didnt start shipping for internationals. Here in germany no one was charged yet or received a shipping mail. |
