I feel like the absolute biggest hole in the Golden Era collection is Jesse Ventura as an announcer.
That said, my personal picks would be Repo Man, Skinner, the Mountie, and Kona Crush, just because I would like to eventually see all of the Hasbro line done in Mattel form (and I’m a sucker for crazy gimmicks).

Corny>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Sable. And if you only see Cornette as “tennis racket man” you really missed out on one of the top 3 managers of all time.

I’m looking at him from the perspective of the Attitude Era which outside the failed NWA stable and boring ass “I’m yelling about wrestling!” vignettes that are pretty much just Jim being Jim, was pretty much uneventful. Sable was a star of the era. Cornette was not. Now if it were the New Generation, that would make more sense given his work with Camp Cornette. And I understand Cornette’s importance in managing, especially in the 80s, but I wouldn’t put him in the top 3 personally. And I have zero interest in Cornette generally so a figure isn’t even really on any of my wants lists.

Smark revisionist history is very unkind to Sable, in large part thanks to comments from Cornette when he was one of the smarkfathers doing shoot interviews in the early 2000s. And partly because she hasn’t really been involved with WWE since they started celebrating and monetising legends. It’s easy to forget (or not even know, if you weren’t watching then) that at the time when the WWF overtook WCW, Sable was the second biggest star on the show. Very few people in wrestling history have ever been as popular as she was in 1998. In comparison, Cornette was active a lot longer, but his high points of fame were being a manager in the regional days and in the fallow New Gen period in the WWF.

Sable being more popular than Jim Cornette isn’t a bad or hot take, y’all on crack?

Sable being more popular than Jim Cornette isn’t a bad or hot take, y’all on crack? The initial basis was set at Sable > Cornette Popularity wasn’t mentioned. It reads as Sable is greater than Cornette, which is simply not true. Sable was popular. For having big boobs and flaunting them. Sable wasn’t popular for her contributions to the business, which is minimal at best. Sable was awesome back in the day for teens and adults, and justifiably so. But that doesn’t make her better than Cornette. Sable showed skin and was in dirty books. That’s literally her only claim to fame. There’s also very few people who’ve ever had anything positive to say about her so she’s obviously not respected by peers. In conclusion, it’s not a matter of smoking crack but more so an ability to judge talent/impact with something other than your boner.

Right, personal opinions on his personal opinions aside, Cornette and Paul Heyman are the only people who you can argue were a better wrestling manager (or advocate!) than Bobby Heenan. That said Sable is pretty damn important to the Attitude Era in her own right, in terms of managers/valets she's in the top 10 most-needed. Can't think of anyone I'd objectively rank above Cornette in that department though.

I followed up with explaining what I meant, which is Sable was the bigger star and should be ranked high than Cornette when it comes to names we need from the Attitude Era, only realizing later they were both in the New Generation list and not the Attitude Era list. Sable should be near the top as far as Attitude Era names we need.

Also Sable is just one of my top want in general, especially since I have a 1998 display. I have no need for a Cornette figure. So in terms of wants it’s still Sable>Tennis racket man. Which is what I called Cornette as a kid because his figure came with a tennis racket….

Some big names missing from the Golden Era list. I’d put One Man Gang, Billy Jack Haynes and Butch Reed on there. All 3 are bigger wants than almost that entire list. Only Hercules is probably a bigger want. Dynamite, Koko, Barbarian and Patera would be the only other ones I want from that list.

Anyway, I thought we'd have had a Sable figure by now... especially with the Brock connection(?). Seems a bit strange.

I don’t think she wants anything to do with the company, or that Brock prefers to have his personal life and his business life separate. Maybe both. I assume the same reason she hasn’t gone in the Hall.

Didn’t she file a sexual harassment suit against the wwe when she left? If so that’s probably why. Either the WWE wants nothing to do with her or vise versa.
