I’m excited to hear about the August preorders, which 2 Legends will go along with Jeff Hardy. Any updates yet on if there will be a panel that will stream on YouTube, and/or a live podcast from SDCC?

We will have a panel. Not sure if we can live stream it though.

Has Matt spoken about Wendi Richter's availability specifically? I imagine she is locked up with Mattel? Her Wm1 and Brawl To Settle It All attires would be incredible in this line. Love her or hate her, I'd also enjoy a Moolah.

Wendi really should have been the first female in the orignal line, had it not been for her falling out in 1985. She was a massive star 84-85 when the line was kicking off.

You're not wrong at all, and I was going to add something like that but didn't. She was huuuge! Plus, she's born in and raised from my neck of the woods (Dallas). I just want to see a titan name for the first female, and can't really get higher than Sherri or Liz! But, if Wendi was announced as such, I'm still locked in and would buy her.

I completely agree with that. BRG’s almost feel underpriced but they made it accessible to the majority of collectors. It’s more justifiable to order more than one at a time/X amount each year that way. If they were $65-$75 each, I think people might start to tap even though they are of a high enough quality to justify that price tag. Even though I am neither a collector of the Major Bendies or BRG line (except for Andre), I have been tempted to break my own collecting rules. But with how good those lines are, as mrh said, it really makes me wish they were doing Retros. I know they have said no to it in the past so it’s unlikely to see anytime soon…but at least we know the proper amount of detail would be put into them to make sure they actually looked like Hasbros. They managed to do that with the two lines thus far. Kind of wish they had done the Galoob line but they definitely would have walked into a smaller niche market that was already beginning to feel crowded before anything was released. Honestly what is left from that era for us spoiled collectors to want? Toybiz? lol The OSFTM line kind of fell flat, wasn't that Chella? Can't remember. So seeing that come back would be fun. I dunno if the Toybiz style would be so easy to get right, but what do I know? Personally, outside of Galoobs, the only type of figure I'd be interesting in seeing would be a miniature line, but the Jakks late 90s version, as opposed to Micro Brawlers or Mini Rumblers, which I've never been interested in. The rings, figure combinations and play-sets that could be made would be seemingly endless.

walter7paisley Nothing is ringing a bell involving someone attempting a OSFTM line unless you mean Rush’s ECW fantasy artwork. That would actually be a fun line to see continued with talents from all companies/generations. But to my knowledge, no one was looking to create the Medium Rubber Guys (TM) like WCW had. God help anyone who tries to revive the vibrating figures for anything other than a joke. And Toybiz would be next to impossible and probably very expensive to try and recreate/try to sell to such a small market.

I meant the ECW OSFTM line, I could swear someone was doing that, I remember a Mikey Whipwreck and, vaguely, a Sabu? I can't for the life of me remember what company it was.

Yeah, I think it was Chella who was going it make an ecw osftm line and they showed off mock ups.

Got the bulldogs last week, a good edition. I think the look of Davey is a little off but Dynamite looks excellent.

Getting back to BRG’s, the idea of a ring hasn’t quite left my mind. I find myself thinking about ways in which the Major Bendies company - or any company - could make it work. Development and material costs are obviously going to be two of your biggest road blocks. I believe the demand is there if the price point is reasonable enough. So, as a fun mental exercise, I’ve been thinking of various ways it might be possible to reduce costs. One potential solution would to create something that is a combination of the NJPW Charapro ring and the Mattel Ultimate ring. This would reduce the size of the box by 50-75% AND it would allow for collectors to display either one large ring or two half rings (which would fit on shelves far easier). Might be a fun way to show off your legends in one half and then the modern day wrestlers in another.

Or even just make and sell a half ring for a reasonable cost and market it as a display stand with the ability to morph into a full size ring for play should you choose to buy 2..

Very true! I feel bad as I completely forgot Eaglemoss also did this years ago and Kanik was even the guy behind it! Double fail on my part! Here are some examples of how it *could* work using Eaglemoss’ design: There could be better packaging solutions depending upon how many parts they broke it into. Kanik said it was basically two parts there. Mattel Ultimate was far more obviously. I love the four posts that Eaglemoss had but I also love the idea of the background that Charapro implemented. I could see doing both and actually selling all kinds of background attachment pieces.

Right now I’m using the Mattel Legends ring with blue cage to display my Big Rubber Guys. They look good there to me, though not to scale, of course. More importantly, they are going to outgrow this setup before too long (assuming I keep getting WWF-LJN era figs to order). I may “have to” bite the bullet and get an LJN or Jakks monster ring on the bay before too long.
