They both have their flaws. One makes Lex Luger figures, the other makes Billy Gunn look like a Lex Luger figure.

The first year or two Jazwares was very good, but like I said in my Jazwares purchases thread back in January I feel like I am done with the line. Because they have just gotten so inconsistent with their product quality whether it’s sculpts, scale, skin tones, etc. it’s like for every good figure they put out now there’s three that range from Bad to hot garbage. We are now half way through 2023 and I have only purchased 4 AEW figures this year. And other than DB all were repaints of past figures. And the DB is a figure that is out of scale when mixed in with other AEW figures.

My main issue with Jazwares is the face scans are getting worse, also the lack of figures available in the UK

Regarding Jazwares distribution, I don’t know why it’s a problem but it’s not exclusive to AEW, their Fortnite line has had around 50 figures leak out from a Chinese eBay type site, and they’re only now finally seeing new product trickle into stores after a gap of around 6-8 months, no one knows what the plan even is regarding when or if some of the “lost waves” will be released, so it’s not an AEW specific problem, it’s something higher up the food chain.

I said what I said when it comes to jazzwares. I only bought Owen for the head, because honestly that's about the only decent thing to come out from them. And comparing all the 3d heads that were made, and or people using dykstras(?) head, the jazzwares head looks a lot better than those for 20 bucks for 2 heads.
Mattel has the best wrestling action figures period. Every toy line from any company has its flaws, but at the end of the day, Mattel is the best.
These are my opinions that I most likely will never be convinced to change anytime soon.
People like what they like, and that's cool. But I don't foresee myself purchasing another aew figure unless it's an improved Owen head.

...that's simply not true: there were very few "terrible likenesses"; the scale was actually better than at present; the "bad paint" (ie. quality control) was about the same; and there was about the same mix of cloth goods/t-shirts etc. and "awful rubber jackets" as there is now. Considering their age - and price - nearly all 2010-2015 Elite figures still hold up really well. Sorry, bud. That's either nostalgia talking, or an attempt to cope with having spent so much money on toys that looked like trash. |

I've seen some really nice figure, and some just absolutely awful figures from Jazwares AEW...just like their programming. Same with Mattel and WWE though.

Thanks Jazware for what we are getting nowadays with mattel line. The competition had made mattel to step up their game. Now mattel has definitely an upper hand in the competition, the quality of plastic use is far superior than what Jazware is using.

Anyway by done with I mean I’m probably not buying anymore first time in the line figure because since the set with the first Kingston in it I have been disappointed with all the first time figures. Eddie Kingston, Andrade, Christian and Daniel Bryan were all must haves for me and when they arrived they were almost all hot garbage. So I will have to see the actual new figures before I commit to any new talent. But Sting, Pac, Hangman and Jericho are wrestlers I will still buy new releases of. From the reveals that I have seen there’s a modern Sting and a Pac that I will buy. And if there’s a Blade Runners Sting I will get that too. Then there’s the Claudio render which looks great, but I will not buy/preorder it until I see the actual figure. |

I feel like I see way more renders than actual product. And despite multiple figures, they still haven’t come close on FTR’s face scans.

It took Mattel what 10 years to finally give us a Dolph Ziggler that actually looks like him and I'm still waiting on a Becky that looks like her. So I can give them a pass on struggle to capture some likenesses. Jazwares isn't bad I'd say it's like 65/35 for me. Some are amazing some are head scratchers. Mattel is far more consistent but both seem to have a struggle getting items on retail pegs. Mattel's Basic distribution is a real mystery to me. My folks in Michigan could Basic 129 at every store and it never hit out here in AZ from what I've seen. |
