I’m watching the added episodes of Wrestling Challenge and watching Heenan talking about Hogan ducking challengers, being an ego maniac, not caring about anyone but himself. Talking about Andre being his friend but never giving him a shot at the belt or going after the tag titles so he can have gold. It made me think about it, Heenan ended up being correct about Hogan and everything he said being true, when guys used to beat on Sherri he would condemn them for hitting a woman. So was Heenan truly a babyface? Was he the conscience of the WWF? I think so

Heenan was the hero we all needed, but we didn't deserve.
I love how the story came full circle in WCW at BATB '96 - he KNEW Hogan's mask would slip one day, and it finally happened.

Bobby Heenan and Jesse Ventura were always quick to tell us how evil Hulk Hogan was.
"He raked his eyes, Monsoon, what's that teaching the little Hulkamaniacs?!" - Jesse Ventura
The constant back rakes, eye rakes, closed fist punches, the man really wrestled like a heel at times but fans loved him at the time.

The beauty of The Brain was that he saw through stinky Hogan before any1 else. Who's side is he on wasn't a spoiler. It was a warning.

Some harp on that and say he ruined it but makes perfect sense to me for Heenan to say that about Hogan. Completely. From everything I’ve heard about Hogans turn, very few people were in the know. Bischoff was referenced as saying he wanted natural reactions to the whole angle. Bobby saying what he said did fit the character. And even though Hogan went heel, he was still on the opposite side from Heenan (and everyone else assigned to WCW).

I truly wish wrestling would have followed up on stuff like this, how interesting it would have been. They would touch on it sometimes in passing, but I would have loved for Heenan to have been given a spotlight to say “I told you” and see how that changes his character. Because it’s true, everything he said was right, so how do the pieces fall now?

It's too bad he didn't get a full blown chance to come back as a face or really, face in terms of being a legend. His health was too bad starting around the time WWE really started bringing back legends. He did do the hall of fame but that was about it. It would have been cool to see him do a Raw skit at least, if healthy.
