its a $30 toy my guy...not an investment. Somebody else having the pleasure of purchasing same $30 piece of plastic in a cardboard box should not cause you this much distress For real, people 'asking' Steve/complaining about the boxes of these cause they can't separate them from the originals and they can't re-sell those for hundreds of dollars is pathetic. Whats pathetic is you calling people pathetic for having an opinion different to your own. Its a cheap, rubbish move by mattel to reissue figures that do well and state they are from 2019. People like you are the reason it happens. Whether you like it or not figure collectors sometimes buy with the knowledge their investment will mature in time, and no matter what you say or what your opinion is, straight up rereleases in the same packaging will hurt the line longterm when the people who invest to make a profit(whether you like it or not) no longer buy initial releases due to this crappy move by mattel. Its cheap, its money grabbing a i expect a best of badge on a best of line.

That I have a Bret series 2 after all these years and that "it could be worth hundreds on ebay" is complete hogwash. Forgive me jesusramiro if I want some difference in the package on my hunt-found figure than what anyone can pick up on RSC. If I was in it for profits, my pure MOC LJNs, Hulk Hasbros, 1980s Star Wars, etc. would have been sold A LOOOOOONG time ago. *stepping off soapbox now*

Let's be honest, none of us are going to stop buying figures because of this. All this is going to do is give the opportunity to sell more figures. Personally, I have no problem with it, but I would have actually preferred they use the opportunity to update the figures. The Series 1 Warrior could definitely benefit from a new torso and pinless joints. The problem I have with the "hunt" aspect of tracking these figures down, is that in many cases distribution of this line is atrocious. I have not been collecting these long, I paid secondary market prices for the in box UE1 Warrior that I own...I got a good deal, but still more than retail. So I understand the idea of the hunt, but at the same time I can tell you that my local Walmart and Target are particularly awful for stocking WWE Figs. I admittedly don't go multiple times per week or anything, but I don't think I've ever found a fig I was looking for at my Walmart. We also deal with nonsense like cancelled orders. What am I supposed to do that I went out of my way to be ready when then Ruthless Aggression Kevin Nash went up for pre-order only to have it cancelled for no reason? How can someone be blamed when the stores/manufacturers cannot be bothered to fix their own distribution issues? And let's be honest, was anyone really bagging these UE1 Warriors as investments down the line? You can google the figure and find the ringside page where it was sold as a bundle with the Rousey UE for $49.99...I bet it was on clearance for less than that at any given time too. I understand wanting things that are rare, I understand the idea of having things that others don't. But it doesn't hurt anyone if someone else has a chance to buy a figure they didn't have the chance to buy before. If you're in it for the money, well now you know you should sell your rare figs now, make your profit and go collect a different line that doesn't reissue figures...if you're in it for the enjoyment of having cool figures, than this has no impact on you. You know you have an original, if you need to validation of everyone else knowing you have an original and not a re-issue, that is a personal problem that you need to work out with yourself

This is why many are complaining about these - it would be one thing if they were actually being marketed as a “best of” series, but they’re literally just “printing” new ones and throwing them in the old boxes stating they’re from 2019 or whatever so you can’t even tell them apart from the ones that came out 4 years ago..I’ve never seen this done in a collectible before. its a $30 toy my guy...not an investment. Somebody else having the pleasure of purchasing same $30 piece of plastic in a cardboard box should not cause you this much distress Lol you’re talking to the wrong guy about investments my guy.. anyway, I’m saying it’s lame for collectors of any hobby to simply reprint stuff it’s that simple.. I don’t care that others get this attire - it’s just the principle of the matter.

You know you have an original, if you need to validation of everyone else knowing you have an original and not a re-issue, that is a personal problem that you need to work out with yourselfYeah right here, this is the problem these people have with re-issues. I love the feeling of finding something in the wild just as much as every collector, specially for retail and specially some of these figures which have the worst distribution ever (Walmart) but some of these haven't been for sale for years, before I even started collecting. If what you cared was about WHAT YOU FOUND/HAVE then why do you care what other people find/get? And then they say that this is gonna hurt the line? lol Mattel is gonna rake in huge amounts of money from the second-hand market (who are price gouging the crapout of these figures targeting newer collectors like myself), collectors that couldn't get these figures when they came out for retail $ are gonna finally have them without having to spend hundreds on them. How many people bought multiple of this set when it came out only to resell? Re-issues are a win-win for everybody, specially updated versions with pinless joints/double-jointed elbows/true FX tech. Echoing the bolded part, if you have a problem with Mattel having their customers happy, then that's a you problem - not a Mattel or collector's problem.

Lol I get that and that’s good for you - I also bought the first HBK that I didn’t originally get, but was personally disappointed to see the figure/box was an exact reprint. I have no issue with rereleasing or “best of” generally, but it’s lame to not differentiate them. Disclaimer: this is my opinion (since some have trouble accepting/respecting others opinions on the matter).

Nobody is being disrespectful or unaccepting of your opinion. You've made the choice to voice your opinion, which you have every right to have, and voice. But somebody disagreeing with you, and expressing their disagreement isn't being disrespectful... The fact of the matter is, if it's truly about the hunt, and the feeling you get from making that find on the shelf, then the fact that it's being re-released should be completely irrelevant to you. You got to experience your thrill of the hunt, and now others who may not have been in the game, or for whatever reason unable to hunt it down the first time can experience the same thing... Now, if you've experienced your enjoyment, and you'll get to continue to revel in the fact that you have an OG UE1 Warrior and everyone else is a re-issue, but it's still causing you this much strife, I can't help but begin to question the motives

I believe there are very slight differences at the bottom of the box. All the wording about copy rights and placement of some of the symbols etc, are slightly different.

If pokemon 1st edition cards were to be reprinted with the same exact date and packaging then it would take away the collectable aspect of the whole thing. Can you imagine ?!
Mattel are hurting the line. If nothing gets to become rare then it simply wont be collectable.
If hasbro ever get the line again could they put out hasbros with the 1992 date?? No. Because that would be a scumbag move to their collector base.

I think a lot of people are also missing another point with the reissues. Mattel could even stand to make more money if they made a difference on the packaging. I'm sure there are a lot of MOC collectors who won't be buying the reissues because they already have the original. Now, if there were a difference in the packaging, they'd most likely be buying it (or at least the collect them all types). It's not always about scalping and making money off everything, there's a lot of facets to collecting beyond that type of thing. Now of course there's people that want their collections to be worth more (which is fine) but not everyone is operating that way (also fine). People spend their money on the product and all have the individual choice to collect for whatever reasons they see fit.

It's good they are re releasing these old figs but i really want butterfly joints on the new re release. I have the OG versions but I'm all in for updated versions.
