The GOAT thing has been used to death but who is your Greatest Of All Time when it comes to all of pro wrestling history and why? Not your personal favorite, but the wrestler you think is just the best to ever lace them up.
Personally, I have to go with Shawn Michaels. As far as in ring work, his promos, his career highlights, and his overall presentation, he just stands above the rest. The man took four and a half years off and arguably came back better than before. Whether it was the tag division, the midcard level, or in the main event he always delivered. Even when he was just an on screen non active character, he was much see television.
Though I will admit, I think Danielson will end up surpassing Michaels by the time he finally wraps his career up.

Personally Rock. But in terms of the whole industry, history & everything that comes with it: Hogan

I want to say Shawn Michaels, but truth be told, I think I have to say Bret Hart. I think that Bret's stuff has aged much better than Shawn Michaels has, do not get me wrong, if I had to say who my personal favorite is, Shawn it will always be. However, if I had to pick who I truly felt was the greatest wrestler of all time, in the time that I have been watching, it would have to be Bret Hart.
No matter who you put him in the ring with 99/100 he mad it work. Also, there is this narrative that he was a bad promo guy, that is not true at all! he was great as a heel, but even as a babyface, he got the message across and what he said always felt real.

Savage for me. Not a personal favourite of mine but could play a top face or heel equally as well. I’m sure I don’t have to sell his in ring qualities. Pips Shawn by a nose.
I was thinking Steamboat as well, but his lack of heel qualities took him out of the running.

Kurt Angle.
He could do it all - face, heel, funny, sadistic. There's not a single person that can match up to his in-ring work. Greatest to ever lace up a pair of boots.

my own personal GOAT is Rock/Austin
As far as who I think the total package is that would survive in any era or who has done the most in their respective time, I have to pick Kurt Angle with Brock trailing by a few marks. Brock has the look, size, explosiveness and believability to demolish anyone in any era of wrestling plus all his accomplishments during his own runs. Countless Championships, beaten the greatest names CLEAN and just been a force of nature for over a decade but the only reason I leave him behind Angle is bc Brock was never the talker that Kurt is. Angle has everything Brock has from accomplishments and accolades to clean wins over the biggest names plus the ability to be funny, loved, hated, scared, emotional and gritty. He can talk, he can wrestle and he's an Olympic gold medalist. You can put him in a feud against any face or heel and he will shine. He's everything a wrestler should be and more. There will never be another like him.

As an all rounder, I'm gonna say Chris Jericho. I love how he's literally done everything, played every role and just been incredible everywhere he's went.
I grew up in a different era from Savage/Hogan etc, so I tried to base my answer on who I enjoyed the most over the years. For me Y2J is above everyone else in my mind.

Roddy Piper for me. Bret would be a close second. But both are personal favorites of mine. Two of my top 3. Pre neon Cowboy hats right?

Personally: Sting & Austin.
Being objective: I could name a few worthy of the GOAT title tough to give it to just one person.
