This is a question for collectors and I guess resellers…
So here’s the story. I have been collecting Funkos for over the last 10+ years and I have about roughly close to 500 pops all still in box. i was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis back in 2012 and in 2020 it became to hard for me to keep working so I am now on disability. My wife and I found out we are expecting our first child in August. We are in a great spot with owning a home and the state we live in my disability holds us over pretty well. I love my collection but I feel like I need to part ways for the future of my child and I’d rather have money for emergencies instead of a room full of plastic and cardboard. My wife thinks I should keep everything and pass it on to our child when my time comes and they could do whatever they want with it. Anyway I use PPG and the Funko app and they’re valued at around $15000-$16000. So I guess it’s a two part question of
1. Should I keep the pops and pass them along? 2.If I was to sell them in one shot what is the lowest I should take without being insulted?
I’m just looking for other peoples opinions to help me with my decision. Everyone I’ve talked to says to keep them and worst case box them up and throw them in the shed or attic but I feel like if I we’re to do that I might as well try to sell while funko is still a thing. But on the other hand the traumatized child in me that started this collection doesn’t want to part ways with the items that remind me of happier and better times 🤷🏻♂️.

If your wife is supportive in you keeping it, I’d try to hang on to it unless it was absolutely necessary to sell or you just want to sell.
A lot will be easier to deal with in selling but you’ll make more money back if you piece it out.
Either way, best of luck to you and your wife and here’s to a happy and healthy baby!

Sell them. They might be worthless by the time you pass them on. You have a kid on the way. That money could go a long way with helping for that kids future.

I'm in the camp of selling them mate. You have a child on the way and trust me, from someone who is also on Disability pay as well, that money will do a lot more for you and your child/family than keeping hold of them where it's a situation where by the time they're passed on they could be worthless. I'd say cash in now, and use the money for your kid and wife.
