I’d have even rathered Jim Powers or Duane Gill than some of the names in this Rumble. I can imagine the crowd getting behind these guys, who we’ve all seen regularly, lose, and maybe this is their chance to step up!

Bushwhackers would have been a good choice instead of Carlos and Tenryu. For Vince always caring about his creations most, it surprised me 1993-1997 he had several guys in the Rumble who were from other promotions. But I guess they did an inter promotional thing. Carlos, Tenru, Kabuki, Omari, Doug Gilbert, Squat Team and I think even Dory Funk Jr. got little reaction from fans. Not sure about the AAA guys in 1997 since it was in Texas. For 1993, I think maybe WWF didn't want to play out too many feuds in the rumble. Having Kamala in, he can't be in at the same time as Gonzalez. Duggan, maybe they wanted to wait until TV to have him go at Yoko.
