I figured we had plenty of "? or ?" threads discussing the all-time greats, but what about the jobbers/low-carders?
So staying to form with the rest of these, who in your opinion was the greater enhancement talent between Mike Sharpe and Barry Horowitz?
While both did their respective things in the territories I'm going with Sharpe based off the limited footage I've seen from both in the bigger promotions. Sharpe seemed more fluid in the ring and had a bit of psychology to his work. The fact that he wrestled for the WWE/F title at one point before being a jobber also gives him a slight edge over Barry imo.

"Iron" Mike all the way. All his OCD things aside, he had a good run in the WWF and other places. The only thing Barry had was patting himself on the back and a homemade title belt.

Horowitz was an entertainer. There was more legs in him partaking in storylines. But companies dropped the ball

i always felt bad for how brutally Iron Mike got beat up by Billy Jack Haynes, so he gets a sympathy vote

I always imagined Mike as a somewhat decent "hold my own against the average guy" kinda fighter based off size and since he was so into amateur wrestling and boxing before he decided to start pro-wrestling but I guess those two never stuck. That or Haynes was just a real bad mf he shouldn't have been stiff with. |

Both are great!
"Iron" Mike Sharpe was in WWF Title matches at MSG in the early 80s against Bob Backlund. He was a champion in Mid South Wrestling in the early 80s too, among other places.
Not sure why Vince McMahon Jr. felt to make Mike a jobber.
Barry Horowitz was a star in Florida for years in the early 80s, winning title belts and such, and even in 1992 he was the GWF Light Heavy Weight Champion.
It is unfair that both of these men were labelled "jobbers" by Vince's eyes. They could have easily been opening card stars for house shows if anything.

Crazy and paranoid at times but definitely lived the gimmick. A macho man. I remember his MTV videos bagging on Hogan personally "man to man" and then calling him out by his government name to a legit fight for charity. Dude was an absolute wildcard so if Billy Jack was his backup he had to be just as crazy. |

Barry had a trading card. I don't think Mike ever got merchandise.
I think Mike was a guy who looked and went like he could potentially be on a PPV if an extra was needed. He did do the Big Event show which really came off like a PPV, to me.
Barry would have been out of place on a PPV even as an extra, until 1995. And once the initial shock of beating Skip died down, they really had nothing else for him.
