I’m sad to make this thread but it is what it is.
As many of you will have seen the new Legends series has hit the UK and thus my Brother Love figure has arrived!
It’s great to have this figure and generally despite its flaws it’s great but there’s three things you need to know:
1/ the obvious hanky and flower missing on jacket
2/ the red shirt is NOT fully red! It’s a white shirt painted on the visible top area only! So if you pose the figure in some ways the white on the shirt becomes visible looking odd!
3/ the face is just far too red! It’s simply too much and looks odd!
As I say I’m glad I’ve got the fig and he’s part of the line BUT the execution of it just isn’t quite where it should be unfortunately.

I really wanna know if this fig is a full-on BAF. If it is, I wanna remove the torso & put the custom fully-painted red shirt my Canadian friend did. Easy fix.

I agree. His podcast full of lies he does with the money mark is slightly disappointing.

The face looks ok, but there’s no excuse for the shirt, no excuse. He usually wore the jacket open as it was, but only painting the visible part of the shirt is worse than Jakks’ most egregious transgressions. Jakks may have only painted the front, but they at least painted the whole front. Looking at the photo I could already see the white under the ab crunch. Would it really have killed them to cast the torso in red?

Tbh seems like there was very little effort/thought put into this figure.
No open jacket, only a portion of the undershirt is painted, no rose on the shirt, & the face is way too red. It’s a ftitl with the small details it could have been an amazing fig.

Yea I think we all talked about this when they first showed the figure. When he debuted his face was very very red, and it got a lighter shade after awhile. Now why they chose that version I don’t understand.

I kept hoping the head was a unpainted sculpt, it's just absolutely terrible and a figure i was actually interested in

I get what they were going for, but I think they missed the mark and went overboard with the pinkish/redish face.
It's been frustrating waiting for a BL figure, especially since he works for the company/on good terms and should have been a lot easier to sign than other Legends that don't work for the company.
They finally get him signed and we get this. Other posters have said that Mattel does this stuff on purpose so they can release a better figure in a couple of years - cases like this make me believe it. Adding to that is that he would really only need one elite if they got it right. I hope we get a Retro and Superstars figure that looks better than this until the next elite (hopefully a BAF so we only need the figure with the face).
Just really disappointing since the FTIL Golden Era figures are so few and far between the past couple of years.
Hopefully it looks better in person.

Brother Love had been number one on my want list for years. He was up there with Mega Powers and Powers of Pain. I was waiting impatiently with Bruce back in the wwe to finally sign. I was ecstatic when he was announced to the line. And I'm so disappointed in the final product. Brother Love should look short and dumpy and slightly disheveled. Jacket fully unbuttoned, hint of white suspenders, more slender white microphone, the red handkerchief in pocket and red rose. He would smell the rose in the show. It was crucial. We need a redo and we need the set or at least the podium. I need an over the top I Looooove yeewww expression and a laughing or smirking face.  |

You do always have to wonder when some detail is present on the BOX ART but left off the figure, what they were thinking....
Nobody even thought to say "hey better change the box art, we didn't put the flower/hanky on his lapel".....
Honestly though I don't think I understand the whole "his face is too red" criticism, though?
And I'm glad our UK brothers are getting some "Love" but how come these "Target Exclusives" are showing up there first? The term "exclusive" sure is thrown around pretty loosely these days.....

Such a shame. We waited for this figure for so long...You would think an extra amount of effort would be put into getting it just right. I guess not.

They're only target exclusives in the US. The international market has always had access to them. Its just the first time anyone in the UK has brought any in. |
