The fact that you guys pay these inflated prices to the clowns is upsetting. Paid $60 shipped for this figure from PM, but RSC are scalpers!

$15 premium to not search 4 WM's daily in the 110 degree heat and $3.50 gas for my gas guzzling Tundra...yeah, I'll pay it.

If I can't find something after a few weekends, I'm going this route most likely. Oh, they sell to customers. Sure, I'd love to get every figure for retail and not have to drop extra on chases or exclusives that retailers fumble the ball on, but there is 100% a point where I say "I do not want to see the inside of a Target or Walmart for another month" and happily drop that extra $10-15. I'd have less tolerance to pay that extra money if I believed Walmart was gonna restock anything. They got one case/shipper, we all went "THEY GOT FIGURES" and they're back to sitting around with their pockets turned inside out. |

I say let people pay what they want to, but that also doesn’t mean I agree with scalping.
Scalping is getting a new figure for retail or less, and selling it for 2-3x more. Scalping is NOT buying a bunch of made to order figures and selling them for an upcharge later. I also don’t think RSC’s $10-$20 upcharge on new figures is scalping. They get in figures before retail so you are paying for that quickness, otherwise you can wait for retail or wait for RSC to drop their prices.
True scalping continues because people continue to pay those scalpers.

The Walmarts in Chicago suck (there are like 4) and there are so many collectors and scalpers in the burbs so they are usually gone not too long after fellow collectors post in figure findings.
Im pretty much stuck with ordering from Walmart's website and we all know how that is going.
Id rather pay extra from Paul than drive over a hour and head home empty handed.
And at least he has his own business and is moving product fast so I don't have to worry about smokers selling on eBay.
Not to mention people posting eBay listings with pics of the figures on their nasty bed sheets or carpet. I just scroll right past those.

That's the stance I took on Superstars and it's made me very happy. Living on Long Island I simply never see this stuff at retail. We get it! But we get enough to satisfy a handful of collectors and the rest of us won't see anything new for a month. I don't begrudge the people who get there first and find them, but that's why I hate end-caps and these massive figure dumps Walmart is famous for and Target did with Elite 100. If you aren't one of the first people to see it there's a solid chance you never will. I've seen four Superstars figures at retail and currently have the entire collection through series 5. Thank you Paul lol. |
