having an older Mattel figure with a poorly painted face next a UE with TrueFx. Now, that one is frustrating!

So when you go to the grocery store you only buy name brands? Just the big vendors? Nothing off brand, nothing "local"....same difference. Just because a certain logo isn't on it doesn't mean it's not a quality product. Generic brand goods are often the same quality as name brand goods for a fraction of the cost. True...There's quite a few things Ill go off brand on...However, peanut butter is NOT one of them. I almost ended a relationship over a jar of peanut butter once.

-Because they’re fans of wrestling and wrestling figures. -Because Mattel isn’t the only company. -Because wrestling exists outside of the scope in which Mattel operates. -Because they enjoy different scales. -Because they’re not just fans of toys standing on shelves. -Because they want to.

Enjoy figures, not companies. Look at the people who were drawn in to Jakks, only to sell their collections years later.

And thanks 11:45 at night an all this peanut butter talk made me go make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. lol

I remember a few years back there being a peanut butter recall linked to one specific plant and it a name brand like Peter Pan or Skippy and the Walmart brand. So clearly they were the same peanut butter just in different containers. **It was Peter Pan corporate.walmart.com/newsroom/2007/02/14/wal-mart-statement-on-peanut-butter-recall

This is vindication for me because I called BS at the time. I might believe someone can blindly tell the difference between a 20-dollar bourbon and an 80-dollar one, but I don't believe my buddy at work knows when he's tasting brand name and repackaged peanut butter lol

They weren't the same leaves as our products, so it's possible that there were different peanut butters being used at that factory. But at that level of product, it's not like the quality difference would be very noticeable anyway. Like, Peter Pan's not gonna have a proprietary recipe for one of their products unless they come out with something massively different than other peanut butters.

Regular Peter Pan just tastes too nutty to me if that makes sense. True...There's quite a few things Ill go off brand on...However, peanut butter is NOT one of them. Last year or two JIF/Smuckers had a big recall and Jif was impossible to find. I tried other brands to no avail but I could deal with Skippy. It wasnt terrible.

Not sure about peanut butter but I can damn sure taste the difference between different ketchup brands. Heinz at the top, everything else is far below that.

Mattel won't be making everyone since some former stars aren't on good terms with the WWE. If another company can make them similar to Mattel's Elites why not pick them up to fill in the gaps.

Why has mattel never signed and made figures of...
Verne Gagne, Lou Thesz, Stan Hansen, Bruiser Brody.
The are too old and too slow, so some one else stepped in.

Why would you not buy other brands? Some of these guys will never be part of the WWE line. Just because they aren’t officially licensed by WWE doesn’t make them any less of a figure. Almost all of them have licenses with the wrestlers themselves which makes them official in my book.

What retail stores would carry them?

Your telling me whoever is is charge on the wwe mattel line could not make a phone call to HHH and get deals for the guys i mentioned before ? The same HHH who got a deal done with bruno sammartino that got us a figure of him made. People need to stop drinking the mattel kool-aid.

No way Steve and co turn down opportunities to make guys we all want, they want them as much as we do and Mattel wouldn’t leave money on the table.

The same HHH who got a deal done with bruno sammartino that got us a figure of him made. People need to stop drinking the mattel kool-aid. The list of Legends currently signed by WWE is huge. The current roster has hundreds and hundreds of wrestlers on it. There are only so many spots available for Legends that Mattel can realistically release a year, which means WWE is only going to go after "X" amount of new Legends each year. Verne Gagne, Lou Thesz, Stan Hansen, Bruiser Brody are a niche of a niche of a niche market. So no, people aren't "drinking the mattel kool-aid." Most of us understand that Mattel and WWE are businesses looking to make money and maximizing their profits. Most of us want more FTIL Legends and that can be frustrating, but I definitely understand why things are the way that they are. Since WWE only signs X amount of new Legends each year, do you really think Mattel is going to push to sign Verne Gagne, Lou Thesz, Stan Hansen, Bruiser Brody over the Headbangers, the Headshrinkers, Brother Love, Captain Lou? Do you really think that HHH is that far in the weeds with the WWE toy line that he is personally taking calls from Steve and Bill at the drop of a hat to get very old school guys signed? And the relationships that HHH has helped mend with Legends have been moreso about getting people recognized/celebrated/inducted into the HOF. I doubt a Bruno Sammartino action figure even crossed his mind when he was talking to him. Adding to that, Bruno is in a different league and has more name recognition/marketability than these people. Mattel has to juggle the most eras/talent than any other company that had the license before them (Golden Era, New Gen, Attitude, Ruthless Aggression, WCW/NWO/ECW, NXT, the largest Women's Division, the 15 years since RA ended, and the current roster). So I don't agree that they are old and slow just because they aren't catering to my personal wishlist of figures that I want released.
