So I was watching some old WCW highlights (bc I cant figure out which official date to start watching Nitro from) and there's this dude named Horace Hogan who is walking around with Hollywood Hogan in a few different clips but he dresses more like Stone Cold with the knee brace, jorts and vest or maybe closer to the members of DOA in some other clips as he's all leathered out in black like a biker and I can't believe I never knew about this guy. Is this a real life relative of Hogan or just a random talent that was given the same name like Lance Von Erich? What happened to him? Did he have a decent run in WCW or end up going somewhere else? I don't recall him in any of the Nintendo games but with a name like Horace Hogan I could be completely wrong as I would have certainly overlooked it. He has a decent enough build and his look isn't bad I guess but why the hell does he always look startled? I'm completely fascinated with this right now. I never knew the Hulkster had what appears to be a protégé. Apologies if this is a topic that's been covered before, it's new to me

I only remember him being a jabroni in the nWo black & white faction in 99 arguing with Stevie Ray about leadership 🤔

Horace is Hulk's legitimate nephew.
And he sucked.

Horace is Hulk's legitimate nephew. And he sucked. This is crazy to me. Hulks arguably the biggest world wide name wrestling has created besides The Rock and I never knew he had legitimate family that wrestled. Excuse me while I go back to living under this rock.

He also had a blink if you miss it WWF appearance here and there. I think he was under contract as well without even really working.

Hm. Wonder if WCW was just doing Hulk a favor or if they were trying to find their answer to WWF's Stone Cold because this guy was really competing as a bald man in jorts, a knee brace and a vest (although white) at the same time as Stone Cold was doing his thing up north from them. Such a weird coincidence of timing if not.

There's no doubt in my mind, it was Hogan using his stroke in the company, to get his nephew a job. And he actually debuted as a member of Raven's Flock before he joined uncle Hulk in the nWo, when you had the group split into nWo Hollywood and nWo Wolfpac. Ok, after posting I looked a bit more into Horace, and apparently he was also cousins with Mike Awesome. And Dean Malenko's father Boris trained Horace.

That's fair but like I said, I didn't even know who he was until a few hours ago so that's why I came to ask the always knowledgeable classic board lol

Good for nothing, unsafe jabron. One of the worst nepo hires there ever was in wrestling. If I took a steaming stinking, steaming stinking pile of monkey crap on his chrome dome it would upgrade his entire presentation.

Nothing personal, but he was terrible. The only reason he made it as far as he did is because of uncle Hulk.
Nepotism isn't new to wrestling, but not everybody is meant to be in a big role and they really tried to give Horace a push in late 1998 as if he was a big deal. They made him a focal point in the disastrous Hogan/Warrior main event at Halloween Havoc.

He is Hulk Hogan's nephew and had a cup of coffee in the WWF in the early 90s as Predator, wearing some kind of jaguar mask.

I did not realise he did WWF!
First saw him as a member of Raven's Flock in WCW
I thought he had a cool look then the bell rang
I believe his best match was in Japan

didn't have have a run in during Warrior/Hogan 2 Yes, that was when he revealed he is Hulk Hogan's nephew and then Hulk beat him with a steel chair and said if he could do that to a family member, think what he would do to the Ultimate Warrior

I think the last promotion he was featured in was hogan’s xwf The idea of Hogan breaking his nephew into the business as a Hogan but all his nephew really wants to be like is Stone Cold would have been a hilarious story imo and could have actually worked if they did it right. Not too sure personally how well the WCW did comedy acts but the way they're pitching it in that video is so funny and I would have watched that if it was a thing. If he had any mic skills or comedic timing it could have led to some amazing promos/segments. "You gotta wear this Hulkamania shirt brother" "what?"

Horace is very nostalgic to me. When I was a kid I played WCW Thunder & Mayhem a lot with friends and Horace was in both games.
For some reason his name always stood out from the rest of the roster.
