Hilarious to think that someone thought he was ready to have a stint on tv that early on in his career, only to return back to tv in 1998 and he still wasn't ready for the big time.... |

I have two memories of Horace Hogan…
1. Accidentally picking him once in WCW Mayhem.
2. Him giving Warrior one of the weakest friggin chair shots I’ve ever seen at Halloween Havoc. Hulk telling him “you passed the test” following the match just added to the ridiculousness of the whole thing.

I just remember a 2000 storyline where Horace was getting sexy massages & making out with Torrie Wilson. Talk about nepotism. Poor girl has to makeout with both Horace & Hulk on the same show and act like she liked it.

There is a photo that's been circulating for years, it's probably even in the obscure pic thread. It shows a bunch of guys in WWF 1993 taken from a tour. It would have been a kayfabe breaker back then because it's Fuji, Yoko, Hogan and others. Pretty much anyone who didn't know Horace was there at the time will ask, "who is that bald guy with a goatee in the back?" Horace is the only unrecognizable person.

Horror-a$$ even had a cup of coffee in WWE during 2002 (again likely due to Hulk's influence). He competed in a couple of nothing house show tags with Bull Buchanan. And done some dark match jobs before Velocity. This was also during the period Mike Awesome returned to WWE & was being jobbed out to the likes of Funaki. Awesome & Horrible Hogan even teamed once (where they obviously lost).

Hm. Wonder if WCW was just doing Hulk a favor or if they were trying to find their answer to WWF's Stone Cold because this guy was really competing as a bald man in jorts, a knee brace and a vest (although white) at the same time as Stone Cold was doing his thing up north from them. Such a weird coincidence of timing if not. I think you're really stretching on them trying to have Horace be an answer for Austin. There's no doubt in my mind, it was Hogan using his stroke in the company, to get his nephew a job. And he actually debuted as a member of Raven's Flock before he joined uncle Hulk in the nWo, when you had the group split into nWo Hollywood and nWo Wolfpac. Ok, after posting I looked a bit more into Horace, and apparently he was also cousins with Mike Awesome. And Dean Malenko's father Boris trained Horace. He was trained by a Malenko and still stunk that bad. That’s rough. |
