I don't know about everyone else, but my stomach isn't full after this SDCC. Ughh  ing Nicholas? What gives people incentive to complete the WM series with him as a BAF? I don't know....it gives off this vibe to me..."you didn't fund our overpriced Nitro stage so we are giving you Nicholas." It was also a flat day of SDCC reveals. Personally I think they had a better showing at the Wrestlem Access And of course Randy Savage unknown status and then sweeping it under the rug at the panel, to me it's not relatable to your fan base. It's a bit alienating to their loyal fan base. |

Here's my take:
- The new articulation for Basics is pretty cool. I'll certainly be more open to buying them now.
- The MNW line is long overdue and is starting off with some fun choices. I really hope Walmart doesn't mess it up.
- Having another shot at getting Paul Bearer makes me unbelievably happy as I missed out on him before.
- Things were a bit Hogan heavy sure, but people here criticized Mattel for not making enough Angle or Sting figures when they had them available, so they really shouldn't be complaining now that Hogan is getting some love.
- BaF referee's are a nice add
- Ali as the SDCC Exclusive bums me out because I have zero attachment to him as I didn't start watching WWE until 1995/96. But for the fans that started watching before me, he's that person you need to have in the line due to his history with the company.
- UE figures are really the cream of the crop of Mattel figures now and they're starting to hit their stride with the line by moving to 3 figures per wave.
- Sultan and Captain Lou Albano? Yes please! Keep the new FTITL Legends coming.
- Casual wear/Street wear Rock from the Maiavia family 3-pack might be my favorite Rock figure Mattel has done. I marked out for the Ruthless Aggression wave 6 Rock though.
- Nicholas BaF has to be the dumbest bloody idea for a figure they could have made. As nice as it is to get an Elite Pat Macafee, it doesn't make me want to invest in an already uninteresting wave to get him either.

I don't know how they did it but they did it.
Mattel Creations found a way to piss me off at the SDCC again. I figured I would try to order the figure, if I didn't get it no big deal. But the fact that they won't complete my order because it won't process the payment when I can order from any other website pisses me off!

I'm pretty much interested in flashbacks. |

Letting everything settle in, this is probably one of the more underwhelming SDCCs in some time as far as wrestling stuff goes.
MNW line is nice, as are Albano and sultan.
No steiners is a huge miss.
No updated Miz, no OC, no imperium, no Viking raiders, no uncle howdy, no LWO members.
Somewhat mild SDCC exclusive (itās nice, just a bit outside the wrestling audience)
Macho man loose overshadows most everything and the fact no mention is annoying.
Iāll give mattel credit where itās due, there is good stuff coming certainly. But lots of things left to be seen that seemed like givens for a comic con. Itās unbelievable that we are STILL dealing with Gargano boot ordeal š
But by god we got a Nicholas figureā¦.. yay š« š

The amount of people marking out for Nicholas as a BAF was weird to me. Sure, it's kinda cool, it would be a valid little gimmick figure at some point, but as the WM40 BAF?! Idk maybe I just take this stuff way too seriously but kinda feels like WM40 is a cool thing, it's kinda a big deal in wrestling terms. Maybe make the BAF someone who's really worthy of that spot? That whole line felt very underwhelming to me though I do think I'd like to have that Cena. I know it's not their fault but it is alienating, at the very least deflating. At the very least Mattel is guilty of not having a terrific bedside manner in this situation, but it isn't personal Sonny, it's strictly business. |

Itās so wild to me that the two driving points of this thread so far have been Becky Lynch, a person pushed as a big star being in a box set of pushed stars, and complaining about a Build-A-Figure that essentially amounts to extras accessories. Like thereās plenty of other positive and negative things to discuss. (For example, Nicholas being the BAF is probably the least annoying thing about that Mania 40 set)
