Anyone know another way to remove decos / paint from figures other than acetone? Particularly on the harder plastics like torsos and trunks? Acetone tends to gloss the hard plastic pretty bad, even if you try and do it quickly, so I am looking for an alternate method that someone has tried and works. Thanks!

I use clear finger nail polish on the hard plastic like the torso and croch you might want to try that. Use a little at a time not a lot or else you'll smear the paint or decals color on the places your trying to take it off of

Winsor and Newton Brush Cleaner is the best product I've found for removing paint. It's pure magic.

Winsor and Newton Brush Cleaner is the best product I've found for removing paint. It's pure magic. Good tip, I mean a little expensive to get it here, but I will try. 👍 |

I had an Amazon exclusive Ultimates Ultimate Warrior with ragged, misaligned chest paint. My OCD got the better of me and I just removed the whole thing. I've used it on the crotch piece on the exclusive Ultimate HHH, as well as a few Marvel legends, specifically the cel-shaded X-Men figures. Ive also used it on elite chests, with no issue, and its incredibly effective on knee pads. The only time I had an issue was with a Transformer. The process still worked but it was definitely more work. Edit: to be on the safe side, I did rinse/swab all of the newly cleaned areas with water, just in case. |
