I just came across Maven's YouTube channel and it is pretty awesome. He only has a few videos on there right now, but he is a great story teller and he comes across as a legit nice dude as well, I highly recomend you check it out.
I also wanted to talk about Maven a bit. I was all in on this season of Tough Enough, I had not yet grown sick of reality TV by this point so I ate it all up. I know a great deal of it was scripted or at the very least staged, but I was entertained by it. I thought was a complete mind blower when he eliminated the Undertaker from the Royal Rumble (he talks about this on his channel) and thought his match at WrestleMania X8 was a fun little piece too.
I always thought he was decent enough, a good lower mid carder was how I always saw him. The main memory I have of Maven was at Insurrextion 2003 which was held in Newcastle. The oppenin dark match was Maven vs this jobber dude whose name escapes me as I write this. Anyway, the fans were so freaking hyped for this show to start that when Maven's music hit, I swear it was one of the biggest pops of the night, people were going nuts. I do think part of it was that he was the first WWE superstar we saw that night, but Maven was actually over and liked by many fans. What I mostly remember is that Maven was clearly touched by this reaction and when he did his walk to the back he actually stopped before he went behind the curtain bowed and blew the area a kiss!
To be honest, I am not sure he could have done much more than he did and he did have a few injuries, but I did find him a pretty entertaining guy.
