You know...Sting being back in the line could be doable. Jake Roberts & Billy Gunn both work full-time for AEW and we still get WWE figures for them - it would be cool if a similar deal could be worked out for the Stinger.
It wouldn't really tread on Jazwares' toes either - let Jazwares keep making the modern Sting's, and leave Mattel to cover the WCW looks.

You know...Sting being back in the line could be doable. Jake Roberts & Billy Gunn both work full-time for AEW and we still get WWE figures for them - it would be cool if a similar deal could be worked out for the Stinger. It wouldn't really tread on Jazwares' toes either - let Jazwares keep making the modern Sting's, and leave Mattel to cover the WCW looks. Anything is possible, but I don't see Sting signing a Legends deal while he is signed with AEW (he might not even be allowed to). He might not even sign one after he leaves AEW (if he doesn't work as a manager or backstage). It was rumored that Jake gave up his likeness when he got out of his contract early in the 90s. Not sure if something similar happened with Billy or if he had a long Legends contract (sort of like when Hogan came back to WWE but Mattel couldn't make figures of him right away since he had a deal with Storm). They are the exception not the rule though. I want more Sting figures from Mattel, but I think there is a strong possibility that Sting never does business with WWE again. |

Is (Ric) Flair not under a Legends deal any more? He asked to be released from his contract and WWE granted his release. They never clarified though which contract he was released from (if he was on a performance contract or if he also had a Legends deal). If he was only on a performance contract (he was involved in storylines/showing up on TV), then it is possible he signed a Legends deal when they released him. WWE was still selling his merchandise and new preorders were available after his release. WWE pulled it though not too long after due to the plane ride from hell episode (think a month or so after he was released). They started selling his merch again not too long ago so he is most likely under another deal. If he is, that doesn't necessarily mean that Mattel will make another figure of him due to the controversy/his past actions (I think they will). |

He left in August 2021 - I remember there were rumors that he wanted to go to AEW since he wasn't happy with how WWE used him (and Andrade had just went there). Not sure if that was in the works since the DSOTR episode aired like a month later. His "final" match was last year and was never referenced when talking about his release in Aug 2021. |

New Legend: We know the Headbangers are coming, one of them had said they signed a legends deal a few months ago so we're due. The Steiners fall under this too because we expected them. Returning Legend: Ric Flair makes sense but I could also see this being The Dudley Boyz. I could also see Hardcore Holly getting signed to a deal Holy Crap Legend: This is where I'm not positive. Ali would be under this category for sure. I'd WANT Sabu personally but I doubt it. Probably It's worth noting Team 3D/The Dudley's are reuniting in Impact for their 1000th episode. Probably won't amount to anything but makes it much more likely of them getting figures. |
