It's a plastic toy in a part plastic box.
I don't get this virtue signalling from companies such as Lego, and Mattel - it's ruining a lot of the appeal of their product.
All the new packaging is rubbish for MOC guys like me, and I'll be less inclined to buy and display because of it .

Shoot.. I just now noticed thereβs no character portrait on the side of the box. Gonna have to find a good way to display these on card These are gonna have to hang or sit face out on the shelf. I've been trying to think of a way myself. |

I don't mind the packaging itself, but the figures look goofy when they're MOC which is kinda stupid.

Them finally changing the Legends to look like this is making me lose faith that the Ultimate Editions will remain intact. I mean I don't know how they could possibly change the UE figures but clearly they don't care if you can see the figure or not, so who knows.

They could reveal legends 25 with Herc, Koko, Mr Fuji and Demolition and I would put money on it we would still have ppl here crying and complaining "Why are Hercules Trunks one shade brighter than they are?" I could see a situation where this packaging is sort of a compromise. Plenty of figure collectors don't care either way about packaging but windowless packaging was a giant pain for Hasbro and retailers are frustrated with not being able to see inside the box. Plenty of swaps and returns going on. Amazon's warehouse deals on toys was a hidden treasure but its no longer that -- everything that they sell that is "less than perfect" is in fact just a junk figure someone swapped out and returned.
But there is obviously still industry pressure to conform to a plastic-less packaging. The window is so, so small. I don't like that it blocks the art but I think overall they did a fantastic job creating a design that is a good mix of both stances. Minimal plastic but still plenty of area to see what is truly inside of the packaging. The shape is unique and I just really like a lot about it.

I love this new Legends packaging and wish they'd adopt it for the main elite line. (anything is better than what they got going on over there)
It is a compact throwback to the original Elite boxes.

the only issue i see is the positioning of the andre and sheik. they could've moved andre down in the tray and moved sheik slightly to the left. otherwise i think it looks great
